The Acicia Bundle is just what I have been waiting for! Kitsune characters that will also help me make Sionnach characters (Scottish/Irish Fox people). It is said that if it is raining while the sun is shining, there is a Kitsune wedding!

K!!!
oh thanks for bringing attention to it. at first glance i thought was another cat girl.
fox girls. adorbs!
LOL, I had to go look at her too. I flashed back to the Kitsune that I have from Content Paradise many moons ago. This one totally different!
I picked that up too, but they are aliens rather than legendary creatures.
In modern culture the best examples, I think, are Ahri in the League of Legends game, and the Kitsune characters in Fred Gallagher's MEGATOKYO webcomic.
Sixus One did a couple of Kitsune characters as well, and with those products and this one, I will have everything I need.
In a few old Scottish/Irish legends, it was said that Gingers/Redheads were foxes who took on human form to seduce humans and steal souls (and they got another freckle for every soul they took). : ) I always thought the old prejudices against Redheads were more of a joke, but they were quite real in some areas.
Oh, the more tails they have (up to nine) the greater their power. They gain tails with age, and maybe from other Kitsune they have conquered. A nine-tail is a fearsome creature indeed (although sitting in a comfy chair must be a challenge).
I haven't bought it yet, but from the product page, it looks like it should be pretty good:
5 bones along with some hierarchical poses seems reasonable for something that size.
I'm curious if anyone has tried to render with 9 tails and how the performance worked out. :)
Ironically I have been watching videos on YouTube about Kitsume and Naruto but sadly cannot afford any fox girls (or boys, mmm fox boys)
She's adorable - if I used G8, I'd get her. I'd get it anyway just for the tail, if the tail actually was textured like a fox's. :-( Oh, well... I can always use AM's fox, and just turn off the body...
Yeah... Except the artist got it wrong -- These are Nekko - not Kitsune. Just because they added a Kitsune (legendary) nine tails does not make it so.
Maybe he/she was trying for artistic differences with Japanese Kitsune, but hit the mark for Nekko instead -- Hell, the girls are even demonstrating cat-like demeanors in the promo images -- Kitsune (foxes/fox spirits) are related closer to canine - look it up.
Has nobody here ever seen the 1959 Russian scientific study of the Fox Farm where they proved domesticating foxes yielded the same exact results as have the domesticating of wolves for centuries (a.k.a dogs) ?
In a previous incarnation of these forums I created some Kitsune character renders with DS and Aiko 3 (when she first came out) with an authentic Kitsune mask (freebie) from a Japanese artist in Japan (Laboratory 108)...
Greymom : Interesting info regarding the Scottish/Irish red-heads. I give the Ginger I live with crap often in my best Cartman voice (though, with brotherly love).
Our Ginger heritage is Nordic, but only one of my siblings was affected by it.
And, even though I look like a big scary 10th century Viking - I have the soul, and battlefield skills of a Japanese Warrior...
I have a question about the tail: Does it load as a geograft hard locked to the body like Meipe's over on 'rotica, or is it a prop that can be unparented and moved about whereever one might want to attach it?
Yeah, they remind me more of Nekkos, particularly with those poses, but that can be adjusted. I figure to use them as Cat-Girls too, I have some spare tails around here somewhere. The kitsune were followers of the Rice God and/or Goddess, except the mischevious and destructive ones, who were sometines regarded more as fox-demons.
In the folklore of Tory Island, one man related that when he was growing up, he was told that he should never let a Ginger walk on the inside when walking along the cliff trails, as she would push you off. And it was said that if a ship was coming into port, they would never bring the ship to the dock if a Ginger was present, as it was bad luck.
My son showed me the info on domesticating foxes. Apparently they are working on that in Japan now. One of the problems is that foxes have musk glands, and they stink. My dad, who grew up in Ohio, told me it was easy to find a fox den by the odor, even more so than mink.
The Norse have some fox-person folklore too, although I have never seen anything about soul-stealing. The foxes were said to cause the Northern Lights.
I need both Kitsune and Sionnach characters for a project, and some Norse snow fox characters too, so this set will be a big help (the poor Sionnach have only one tail, but have found ways to compensate).
Got that fox mask from Lab 108 a while back - nice freebie.
Unfortunately, it will be a while before I can try this out, got to install everything on a new machine.
Never heard of the Sionnach. I might pick this up if I get into G8. People are right about those poses being more feline, or should I say Nekko.
"Sionnach" just means fox in Gaelic, just as "Kitsune" means fox in Japanese. As far as I know, the Scots and Irish did not have a specific term for transformed foxes unless they were referring to redheads. I am still looking though.
I hope Crocodile Liu sees these posts and makes some add-on packs, as these kawaii characters would make great nekkos, wolf-girls, etc. And Marvel comic's "Unbeatable Squirrel Girl" of course. One of the most original costumes I have seen at a convention lately was a Steampunk Possum Girl.
Hi,
I bought the bundle because I was simply charmed. I don't know very much about Anime to tell the difference between a Kitsune and a Nekko. I can say that using the tail(s) was very easy and fun. I also tried the bones, to get the tail below a dress, but gave that up. And a friend told me, that in Naruto or Baruto, a character who is a Kitsune, has a tail that appears to attach 'through' the clothing and is more of a spirit tail. So, I will have to try that.
All contents in the bundle were lovely and easy to work with. Crocodile Liu did an excellent job. An add-on package would be a great idea that I would purchase.

I don't think kitsune is much concerned about the 1959 fox experiments. I have seen documentaries on that, and it was kind of messed up. They did not just breed for a gentle animal, they also breed to create more hostile animals at the same time. At any rate, it is irrelevant.
It just so happens that a popular anime this year has kitsune characters, "The Helpful Fox Senko-san", and this is possibly a reason why Crocodile Liu created this product. Anime fox girls are really not much different from anime cat girls. The title character is the one on the left.
I love what Crocodile Lui is doing, and I love seeing what our Japanese and Asian PAs come up with. They are making some of the most interesting products on Daz, and they often include lots of extras. Look at all the stuff in this one package! Although I would like it if some of these could be purchased separately, there is no denying the value in this little bundle. If Kanada 8's bundle had items like this, I would have bought her without hesitation. Incidentally, I think Crocodile Lui built Kanada as well.
Thanks Crocodile Lui!
meipe has had a Fox Tail prop on renderotica for some time.
(Of course, nobody "owns" the Fox's tail except for the Fox. Kitsune & Fox Girls are not exactly new creations.)
The Acicia bundle is quite nice.
Anyway, quickie 5-minute render with meipe's tail.
Kanade and the simple form of the Tailminator (not the bushy version), just to show that fox tails also do exist.
The tail is a seperate attachment for the character and there are some presets for it included, but you can click on it in the parameters tab and there are three or four joints and each one you can bend and twist as you wish. You can also unparent it and move it around, but you have to click on the hip to move it, if you just click on the tail you can't move it. So the tail is movable however you'd like and can be animated!
gimme 50 coupon doesn't work on them
Those coupons excluded new releases. But also, I think the coupon came on at midnight DAZ, so it has been more than 4 hours and may not be working anyway, despite its continued presence on the main page...
Awesome, that makes it an even better deal! Now if I could just make the time to actually work on something using it. I went ahead and bought her the day she released, but haven't had a chance to do anything yet.
