Return of the Miki

Saya reminds me of Miki and here (tks! elianeck) or of Hikaru Utada 20 years ago. She looks great, and I've become an even bigger fan of Goanna! What a great stable of productsa today.

She does look like Miki a lot. She goes right into my wishlist.

I'd still be using Miki 2 if it weren't for the fact that she bends like a wet macaroni ;).

Wow, the images I'm trying to conjure up imaging a person bending like a wet maccaroni; hope I don't have nightmares. laugh

OT but can anyone else use DeviantArt since they updated? When I click on either of the above links that take me to DA, all I can see is the bottom half of the image - the top is cut off. And NONE of the buttons work, including the toggle to switch back to the old version.

@Escape I opted out of the update, and since I'm signed into my account, all systems are go. But even when I sign out, I have no issues.

I never got the option to opt out. I sent in a support ticket, so we'll see what happens. The site has been buggy for me for a while anyway, with ads constantly covering the "delete from deviaions" button, and crashing all the time.

She's straight up Miki, even down to the freakishly long fingers. I'm not sure if she's Miki 1 or 2, but she is 100% Miki. Now I can abandon my perpetually delayed plan to modernize Miki, and even better, since I'd never be able to release whatever I would have eventually come up with anyway. To quote Hulk from Avengers Endgame: I see this as an absolute win.

She does look like Miki 2 and I must say, on the promo with the black bikini, the elbow bends look just like on Miki 2, and the big feet too. :)

She is super cute and gone to my wishlist:)

  • First thing I thought too, especially the face

Beautiful, Miki and Miki2 were my favorite of the Smith Micro/Poser characters

I have them on a DVD backed up somewhere, hilarious I never use them now

I'd bet she is designed to be a Miki. She even has those typical forearm shapes from the Poser 6 and 7 figure aera.

I totally agree, I just bought her and loaded her up and you can tell that she is based on Miki. The Arms and even the strange bend of the arms when posing and the big feet.

    I always adored Mik 2.

I bought her and the body does match a lot. It is difficult to fit shoes.

I remember being very impressed with Miki when she first came out.  I bought the "Miki 1020" pack, which included the model, biker clothes and a motorbike.  I can't believe that I missed Saya when she was first released, but this thread made me take a look and I bought her today.  A very nice character and she definitely has that look of Miki, although a side-by-side comparison shows that she is a LOT taller than Miki.

Buying the character made me dig out an old render from the depths of my storage drive.  I did this render back in 2007, and then I went back in 2009 and rendered at 2500 pixels for a project.  Glas that I did because I used a bug in the lighting of Vue 6 to make the render, and I no longer have it installed.  In 2007 I was very pleased with this portrait of Miki, though by todays standards it looks very CG.

Using the 2007 Miki portrait as a reference, I attempted to get an updated likeness using Saya.  I can't get the pose exactly right, but it does show off what a great character Saya is.  I think I'll be spending some more time working with Saya.

I think she looks more like 2 than 1, but they both looked much alike ;). It's hard to tell by the promos if the body matches that of Miki, so if I missed that it's an honest mistake.

And if we're talking old, this one is so old it's moldy...lol. 2000 or 2001 I think (somewhere in there) - the original Miki. Always loved her smile ;). Poser 4 render with painted details.
