So, despite all my effortst to get my Gino ready for market I've failed again with another rejection.. this time the clothing I added in to beef up the pack seems to be the issue for the most part. The in house team said that there needed to be more than just support for Gino's shape and the base Genesis 8 Male. So my question is for those that support the human figures what shapes are a must. Not a list of 100 please or not favorites of yours but what base shapes and character shapes (Lee, Michael etc) does DAZ push to have included in clothing packs.
Thanks so much
Richard

If it's a realistic G8M then all available DO Pro Bundle G8M s and likewise for the females.
I don't make clothing but what you can do is check out other clothing items and see what shapes are generally supported.
You have products like this that support a whooping 32 shapes: https://www.daz3d.com/raider-outfit-for-genesis-8-males
And products like this that support 9 shapes: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-wise-wizard-hd-clothes-for-genesis-8-males
Hopefully, a clothing maker can come in and let us know what the figures are that are needed. They will definitely want a few of the most popular figures.
.
Thanks folks.
Yea, my list for core shapes are: Darius, Michael, Lee, Ollie, Edward, Owen, The Brute, Sanjay and Vladimir because I think between those shapes MOST FBM shapes are pretty much covered.
For the base shapes, I ran into an issue with wanting to use Bodybuilder. It would NOT take properly to the clothing so I omitted it until I can figure out why it's not working correctly. At first I was using the CTRL version of the shape that brings in the Bodybuilder FBM shape, the Bodybuilder Details and the Scale info but that wasn't a good idea so then I just tried to use the Bodybuilder FBM shape itself, still no joy so gave up on that one.
Next I wanted to put in the Portly shape as it's more of a "comman man" shape to add realism, that took just fine. Most of the other FBM seems to follow along fine with the clothing like Thin and Lithe.
The Bodybuilder shape is important though and it's got me annoyed. I even tried loading up a fresh version of the Tank Top I made and it's still misbehaving so not sure what that's all about.
Yea, I don't have Lucas and I'm not going to pay $45.00 for a shape so will have to wait for that to go on sale I guess! LOL
Bodybuilder controller links to two separate morphs. You need to support each morph separately, I think. There is Bodybuilder Size and Bodybuilder Details.
Correct... I'm sorry, I meant Size not Shape. Just putting in the Size FBM is causing some strange things to happen.... not had this happen with any other FBM
... can you not ask the team what they consider a good "core" of MCMs?
Obviously, not every outfit necessarily needs every shape (auto-fit does often work reasonably well on less extreme shapes), but surely they must themselves have some guidelines as far as which shapes it's most important work well.
Thanks for your perseverence. I don't have an answer to your questions, but I applaud your perseverence. With over 180 pages of content, I can say that if you can endure the "hazing" and become a PA, it is likely that I would purchase some of your products.
Body builder might need reverse deformations checkmarked, morphs that change scaling or bending do, like most of G8F's breast morphs. I don't know for sure if body builder does but it's a likely culprate. I just checkmark it all the time when making fit morphs 'cause there's no reason not to.
A better title might be: Attn: PAs, What G8 Shapes Are A Must for Content
Well strangely enough, I just tried again and it's working now. Weird! BUT YAY! LOL
True enough but I'm only missing the one shape. Lucas! Right now it's at $45.00 so not going to happen! LOL
Maybe they'll take it without Lucas. Lyrra said the list was for DOs.
If you don't mind me asking, would it not be easier to seperate this into two lower priced products (character and clothing)? That way you could release the character sooner, make some money, and then invest that money into buying the characters you need to support the clothing.
Actually that's a god idea in general, because you want a certain product doesn't actually mean that you want the other products it may include and which increases the price.
I'll admit that there have been a number of times where I've been put off buying things by the way they're bundled. I will generally only buy Clothing/Character sets if I particularly want both, and there's a lot of times I've had to pass on them because either the clothing or character is too similar to something I've already got and I can't really justify the expense.
Well part of my reasoning is that the character itself, while it's my baby, is a morph and skin with eyebrows and some scruff. I was beefing up the pack with some clothing items and a beard, mustache and pubic hair props (all three are basic, meaning no morphs and would only work with G8M and Gino, the rest would rely on auto follow / auto conform) but even with the beta team saying all was well I was turned down because I was, in my own mind, thinking I'm basically including this stuff in the pack as freebies in it's way, maybe uping the pack by a couple of dollars, but was told NO, the clothing items have to have expected morphs included. So I backed away and started rethinking things so maybe I WILL put them up as separate packs since I'm going to be including needed morphs. So with that said I'm doing a trainer baggy shorts and including my Trainer Shoes refitted to G8M that I made for Dawn from Hivewire a good while ago. Who knows, Gino might be released SOMEDAY! I'm in no hurry. Hell I might even miss the boat and G89 will have hit by the time this is all said and done. LMAO
Even if Gino never gets sold in the Daz store, you will have learned a heck fo a lot that you can put ot use later.
OK, your character, Michael, and G8M are a must to be supported in included clothing. Anything else regarding the base male full body morphs and supporting figures I'd think should be based on the style of the character you have in mind. That said, if the Daz team thinks more stuff should be included, I'd ask them for specifics, or drop the clothing part entirely. You may think of it as a bonus freebie, but customers sometimes think of it as paying for things they cannot use, or don't want. I'd think a character morph, skin texture, and assorted body hair would be robust enough on its own.
Edit: Then when your character gets accepted, you can start a commercial thread and link to the bonus freebies hosted at sharecg or wherever and get thankful replies.
Where did the list disapear? Someone posted the list of the chars and forms. Why did it get deleted?
Even if you're planning on basically including the clothes as an included freebie Daz will raise the price of it to take that extra stuff into account so it will likely hurt sales.
The list applied to items Daz purchases or commissions, not necessarily to PA items - and in any event it is liable to revision from time to time, as new sets are released. Having it posted was potentially unhelpful to would-be PAs.
Ok. So have to ask it time to time. So the best thing to do if you want to be a PA first do something that is a prop/place/pose for a specific figure (cat or dog etc...) so you don't have to mess with genesis lists.
I would suggest asking, once you have the basic clothing ready to show so they can make an informed suggestion.
OH that's where that went. It's OK. I copied and pasted it to a text file!
