dForce Starter Essentials update

Today an update to dForce Starter Essentials showed up in my DIM. Should I install it if I am still running DS  4.10 or should I wait until I upgrade to DS 4.11?

... Or indeed is it related to DS4.12 Beta?

I'd like to know the answer to you question too - I don't want to install it if it's not going to work with DS4.11.xxx

I was wondering this as well. I think it is unlikley Daz would issue an update that only works with the beta version. I'm using 4.11 beta and I still have 4.10 release installed.

Just save a copy of the old one somewhere safe, if you haven't already downloaded the new one and blown away the old one, and try the new one. If it doesn't work, just uninstall the new one and re-install the old one. Copy it back to your DIM download folder after deleting the new one, refresh, and install. Ignore the update that will re-appear in the ready-to download tab.

Unfortunately I don't save my DIM downloads after insall; so, I don't have an old copy to reinstall if need be.

Well, you could Show Installed Files and pull them out one folder at a time (looks like a dozen or so) into a parallel folder structure to mimic the original, then zip it up or repackage it with Content Package Assist (if you have it), which will make you a new manifest for installing it again properly. If you really want to, that is. Kind of tedious, but gets it done.

I checked the files inside both the version installed on my computer and the version waiting to be installed, (via the Show Files option in DIM,) and there weren't any new files in the update.

It could be something as simple as a metadata update.

Thank you L'Adair - useful to know. I'll give it a try later.
