UV stretched when posing

Is it possible to avoid the stretching that happens in the photo below? Whenever I pose these boots, the UV around the calf seems to be stretched. Is this related to auto-follow? Or JCMs?

When you bend the foot the distortion is spread over the mesh - that's how these things work. A JCM ( a Joint Controled Morph, a morph that is triggered by and proportional to a bend) or editing the weight maps (to chnage the distribution of the stretching) might help (though there would have to be stetching somewhere). Are you using the boots on the figure they were made for or have they been AutoFitted?

Thanks, Richard. I'm auto-fitting them, but they're G8F boots on a G8F character. Is this common for all boots/shoes that would have UV laces stretched with a pose?

The laces look to be modelled, are the eyelets painted on? If you are using the boots on the figure they were made for I (in whichc ase there would be no AutoFit) would have expected them to do a better job of bending - though the design would make life difficult (there isn't a lot of spare space to absorb the stretching).

The eyelets are modelled, so I'm surprised by the amount of stretching as well. I guess I'll just have to be more careful with the foot poses I use on this piece. Thanks again, Richard!
