The Maia HD body morph loads at 100% for any Genesis 8 Female character. Problem is solved by either moving the Maia HD Body slider to 0% (Parameters / Actor/Full Body) or by uninstalling the product.

Ah man, I love Hellboy's stuff and was fixing to buy this as soon as I got home tonight.  Now I might monitor this thread a little first.  <sigh>
Wonder what is going on - this seems to be happening more and more with various G8 figures lately. Hopefully it can be resolved at a higher level that keeps if from happening again and again (from different PAs even).

Hi! Thanks for getting the character :D

Sorry you had this issue, it seems the release version has the Maia control set to 100% by default, making the Maia Body and Maia Head morphs load at 100%. It can be annoying, but nothing to worry about. While it gets updated, there are two very simple, permanent fixes to this.

1- (Recommended) Replace the file in \data\daz 3d\genesis 8\female\morphs\soto\maia with the one I´m attaching in the zip. It will replace the default 100% with a 0%

2- With a clean/zero Genesis 8, click the little gear icon in the Maia dial (Actor/People/Real World) and set the default value to 0%. Then Save As / Support Asset / Save Modified Assets. The dialog should show CTRLMaia.dsf will be modified.

    wink

Thanks for this Hellboy!  I'll go ahead and get her tonight then and please know that your support and solution is VERY MUCH appreciated!  A class act all the way.  :)

    @Hellboy

I wasn't worried. Your stuff is top notch and I knew Maia would be fixed as soon as the notification was made.

If folks are concerned about your (admittedly) simple steps, setting Parameters>Actor>People>Real World>Maia to 0% as an interim solution works as well.

Thank you, I hope you enjoy her, it´s my first female character, so it´s very special to me laugh

I hope there´s an update soon, but, yeah, the issue is basically a number in a text file, so at least it can be easily fixed meanwhile :D

I just bought this figure, and then saw this thread whilst I was downloading.  Thank you to Hellboy for such a quick fix.  Your male figures have been fantastic - great attention to detail and lots of options.  I'm loading up Maia now to see what you've come up with this time.  Many thanks!

@Hellboy "I hope you enjoy her, it´s my first female character, so it´s very special to me laugh"

IMO, the amazing number of options, and the ability to apply them to other characters make Maia worth the purchase for that reason alone. That she is an interesting character is just added sugae to a sweet package. yes

Special to you? Special to anyone that buys her. I REALLY didn't need another G8F, but you left me no choice. You packed her with so many options that the only option was to buy. Your promos have me salivating like a Pavlovian mutt, but I'm still chasing my tail for that kind of quality, though Maia should make the going less ruff, ruff. Maia is no illusion! Thanks for the quick fix.

Just wanted to pop in and let you know why this happens. Character makers make Character Presets to load their character in fully without having to dial, shape, add textures, etc to them. Generally, it's no biggie, but in a character preset, every dial that is saved-- for that preset-- has the default value set to whatever it is on the character preset. In this case Maia's preset was set to 100% on that character preset. When character makers are doing their final checks, sometimes (oftentimes) they will notice an issue with a morph dial, so they will fix and resave the morph. The problem is, if they fix it after having loaded the character preset, the morph they adjust will save with a default value of 100% instead of 0% because on the character preset, the dial has a default of 100%. It's *really* easy to do, and it's even easier to miss. Testing a product, you're making sure you don't get errors that something is missing. You don't get errors that something extra is there so it's really easy to miss. The fix is, like Hellboy said, setting the default to 0 in the parameters and resaving the morph dial. In our attempts to get stuff to you guys faster, we've missed some things, but we all know it's happened several times recently, and we're all trying to make sure we don't do it again, and we appreciate y'all's patience.

Also-- how gorgeous is Maia, right? :D

I'm not good at fixing things so I want to wait to install her when this is corrected.  Any word on when the update will post?

I send the fix to DAZ in two different ways. I hope it will be taken care in no time. I am following this, so I will let you know as soon as I have news smiley

Meanwhile, turning her shape to 0 when loading other character is a workaround or, replacing the control with the one I posted will permanetly fix it. That would be the same as the update but manually.

She's worth the tiny little hassle. She is gorgeous ( as ChangelingChick said), and all the extras that she comes with make her more then a value. Thank you so mush for making her! And don't worry too much about the mistake, we all make them, and it's really not that big of a deal.

Did it install to a new location? I would uninstall her completely, check if she's there, if not then reinstall. You might have a second copy somewhere.

The update was confirmed by QA and I tested it too. The morph value is 0 now.

You must have the older file around.
