Convert G3FtoG8FMorph to Fully Morphed Character?

After converting a G3F to G8F, how would I go about saving the fully morphed output as a loaded character? IE, how can I bypass the need to use the sliders, and simply load it 100% applied?

Save a Character preset (it will then load with the shape set, and that will be the memorised state).

Thanks! I tried that before and it didn't seem to work. Must have been user error, as it's working now

On this note, at least when I do it, character presets don't load G8's eyelashes, which is a nuisance when you get halfway through a render before noticing they're missing.

Is there some way to include them? I often use scene subsets for entire characters (inc. hair, fibrebrows, geografts, standard jewellery, etc), but it strikes me that the eyelashes should be part of the character preset itself.

Must admit I tend to use scene subsets. That way hair, eyebrows, clothing and any props can all be loaded in the single 'file merge' operation.

    Regards,

    Richard.

Any way to change the Character Preset thumbnail? I tried replacing the png, but nothing seems to happen even after a restart

if you have filename.duf then DS should use filename.png or filename.duf.png as the thumbnail. Make sure you don't have both pngs, I'm not sure which would be used if you did (but I suspect the .duf.png).

If it is the standard G8 eyelashes then you can save as character present and check post load in the dialogbox, then the eyelashes will be saved with the character

Tbh, I only ever save characters as scene subsets and it never fails.

Here's a great tutorial video by Josh Darling on saving characters, right around the 2 minute mark or so it shows how to save it with the lashes:

Great video, but as a 'never done this before' person, wish he'd talked a bit slower, also didn't rush thorough all the settings and drop downs. I could't keep up.
