I need an iray sand material for a sand pit.

Anyone know where I can get an iray sand material? Preferably where the sand has a normal map or displacement map?

You know how people create ready to go iray wall textures? Has anyone done this with sand?

There is a quite decent Iray sand shader in this pack:

  • It's also not difficult to make seamless textured maps in PS or GIMP if you only need a single texture. Or use one of the noise shaders (i like Perlin noise). Toss in some metallic flake to give it another dose of character.

Just flip the seamless texture to grayscale to do a quick and dirty bump map, or have the app generate a normal, or both.

If the sand in this render is OK then it is Will's (Oso3D in the DAZ Store) free procedural iRay shaders.

That's just the link to one of the sets, even though there is some duplication in his sets you probably should download & install them all as they are good shaders.

The Beach Volleyball set that comes free with Studio has a few different shaders that look fine. I have even used the displacement for water surface.
