I noticed there are certain products disapearing from the DAZ marketplace... the latest seems to be the Melody Man instruments. I had a couple of which on my wishlist & i'm sad to see them gone. Has anyone got any idea why they have gone, will they return or where they might turn up next? :-)

Simon3D's store was closed back in September, early in the PA sale.
That sucks I really wanted more of his instruments. I wish DAZ would give some sort of warning when they (for whatever reason) are about to pull products or entire stores, that way people could buy up items from thier wishlist before they dissapear for ever!
I noticed the REAL Hairy products also have gone (sorry I dont remember the PA's name) which is another shame. I'm glad I purchased them some time ago.
I think I heard that the talented Melody Man passed away some time ago.
I have his strings set, but have to see if I can give it as lovely an Iray finish as Protozooan has in his promos. (His instruments are wonderful.)
Oh, that's sad... may he rest in peace.
I so wanted his strings set! Yes Protozooan's instuments are great! Well here's hoping Protozooan creates more instruments for us & complets a set of strings to go with his wonderful violin!

He passed away from cancer Jan 6 2017.
Edit: Unfortunately I didn't buy the cello. Had it in the cart twice and never bothered - stupid me.
There is always ShareCG for free instruments. Search for "Cello", and then you find it's a textured obj file which Studio can import as three items; then you get Protozoon's alignment freebie to set it up: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/221716/professional-cellist-poses-ready-to-go-3rd-party-free-cello-alignment-for-poses after which you can save as a scene subset, or whatever suits you.
Resurrecting this thread to point out that the Melody Man instruments are now available in Don Albert's store: https://www.daz3d.com/don-albert
Oh dang. That's really sad to hear. :(
I'm glad that some of his work is available still. In that way his legacy gets to live on with people's renders using his work. Thank you for letting us know, Charlie.
