Someone mentioned Millennium Cat and LAMH...

The other day someone posted a mention (can't find the thread now of course) of Millennium Cat using an LAMH preset and a rather sparce looking kitty.  I vaguely remembered that I should have MilCat, somewhere, and also one of AM's sites having presets, and after a bit of digging found everything execpt textures for MilCat.

Anyway, copied all the LAMH the presets to the default under the user folder, and sure enough was able to load one made for MilCat. Set MC's "fur" to something other than pure white (I used to have a black Angoran so ...) & Generated some hair, & yup, a pretty sparce looking feline.

So, started cranking settings up, and up, & with 275K for the body count, Miss Kitty is looking much better.  Not close-up quality just yet but certainly worthy of hanging out in the bg.

I'm not getting any trans maps generated though so fur isn't looking silky & inviting certainly so need to figure that out.  Nor do I have any actual textures as MilCat doesn't come with any; just basic colors. I finally managed to get Lyne Masamitsu's NickeyCatTexture applied just tonight & will explore that soon.

    That looks like the one.  Mostly just raise the hair numbers.  At some point I'll do the tail as a separate group I suspect.

    Judging by the footprints near it, that's one helluva big cat. Could it be related to this one?

    I couldn't find an HDR in my collection that didn't make him even larger.  Just wanted quick lighting for eval.

    But I did make some progress with understanding & getting the textures working.  Here's a quick fiddle with Nikki:

    This is actually a pretty good figure to study LAMH with.  AM makes it looks so easy in his vids, but I haven't gotten the knack yet of styling & combing.

    I had that same problem of only the guard hairs rendering, none of the fill, regardless of how high I cranked up the numbers. 

    It turned out I had both the full plug-in and the free player installed. I got rid of one of them and it rendered.
