AutoFit backwards compatibility?

Hello,
Is there a way to get clothing to have backwards compatibility? Autofit works great getting G3 clothes on G8 figures but is there someway to get G8 clothes to fit G3 figures? Sometimes autofit works great but much of the time it doesn't want to.
