coupon

I have a 20% voucher on any product. I didn't understand how it works: I chose to use it for this https://www.daz3d.com/centaur-7-for-genesis-3-male-s. This product already has a 30% discount which with the addition of an additional 20% should give me a 50% discount in the cart. But that's not true, the accounts don't come back to me ... in the cart they give me $ 25.18. Since I have so many additional products that I would like to buy the accounts don't even come back with those.

Can anyone explain to me why this difference? Thank you

    Daz calculates discounts as multiplications, not additions.

    X - 30% - 20% => (X - 30%) -20% = X * (100%-30%) * (100%-20%) = X * 0,7 * 0,8 = 0.56 X

    That's not how additional discounts work: you don't add the % off, the additional discount applies on the remainder after the original discount is applied.

    So in this case 44.95 with 30% off is 31.465, and if you remove 20% of that you end up with 25.18.

    I understand, they gave me a 20% discount on the already discounted price. Good to know. Thank you

    It is standard maths to calculate discounts as multiplications, not additions.

    X - 30% - 20% => (X - 30%) -20% = X * (100%-30%) * (100%-20%) = X * 0,7 * 0,8 = 0.56 X

    Corrected that for you.

    I'd say it rather depends on the wording. In standard maths there's nothing speaking against adding discounts and it is frequently done. It's the "get an additional x% off" that makes it "additional % off the already reduced price".

    Oh no, not this round and round discussion again! cheeky How many times have we covered the same territory? I think Richard should have left well enough alone and not triggered this debate again. It looks like a good thread to lock.

    I just succumb to the total during check out. If it does not appeal to my budget allotment at that time then it gets discarded. No more math calculation that way, makes shopping easier.

    This is a great calculator for up to three discounts.

    Since no one mentioned it, I'd also double check you don't have to put a coupon code in the cart before the extra discount applies. I know I have a 20% discount on all purchases this week and I have to put the code from my message in the cart before that additional discount applies to the cart. So check your messages about the discount to see if there is a code if you haven't already.

    Is it possible to use two coupons on the one purchase? I have a similar 20% discount this week from a purple banner (thanks Victoria!) and it would be nice to be able to combine it with a PC monthly voucher, but I don't see a way of using both together.

    No, you can only use one at a time.

    Nope, only one coupon can be used in each cart.

    I'd be fascinated to hear how and why you factor particle physics into your Daz purchasing.
