Amazing...I'll be picking it up as soon as I can justify it..LOL. Planning on making Wen The Eternally Surprised with it. The PAs are spoiling me for Terry Practchett characters this year. Can I say how much I love you all?

Yeah, color me impressed with Budai and the included outfit, etc. Looking forward to messing around with morphing this guy. Honestly, I'm not sure what was a bigger selling point for me, the character or the outfit. Everything does look fantastic. And I really liked the promos.

Yea, the promos sold me as well!

Thanks for the comments on the product, we worked quite hard. Just a bit of background on the figure, Budai: he's of Chinese origin, and is based on a Chan (Zen) monk who may have existed around the 10th century. There's a similar figure (Angida Arhat) from India who was one of the first disciples of the original Buddha. There are in fact many versions of this figure throughout Asia, all possessing a name that translates as 'Cloth Sack'. In Japan he's one of the Seven Lucky Gods. He's not a Buddha, but he is often considered a Bodhisattva, which are a group of semi-divine beings who serve as guides. Lothar posted an image of another Bodhisattva, who I believe is Guanyin.

A Bodhisattva would probably be the equivalent of Gandalf in Tolkein's literature.

Beautiful renders. But the way, there are adjustment poses for the ears. Type in 'Earlobe' and you'll be able to see them. I may make an edit to the product to make them more visible.
