missing plugin ... please help ... LAMH fixed but not DCC {solved}

I have both dz4.7 & dz4.10 on my computer. I can access my contents in both programs, but for some reason, dynamic clothing panel is listed in 4.10, but not look at my hair. Adversely, look at my hair but not dynamic clothing control is listed in 4.7 ... I can't get both plugins in both programs ... anyone know why?

I don't know specifically, for your situation. However, I recall the first time I installed the beta, I had to uninstall and reinstall some plugins because they require files be installed within the directory structure of the program. So it makes sense to me that you would need to install those plugins to both directories.

Based on another conversation with you, I assume you are installing everything manually. I recommend opening the zip archive file for the dynamic clothing as a reference, and then verifying the files from that archive are in both the dz4.7 and dz4.10 install locations. Then do the same for the Look At My Hair.

And if they are not in both directories, manually install to the directory those files are missing from.

Make sure that you install the Dynamic Clothign Control Plug-in after DS itself has finished installing - it replaces the basic plug-in with the control plug-in, so if you reverse the order the control plug-in will be the one replaced with the basic.

Thanks, guys ... will try all of that.

OK ... I've re-installed 4.10 ... the re-downloaded and installed dynamic clothing control and look at my hair. And look at my hair is under the panels tools but not dynamic clothing control.

If you are using DIM to install the plug-ins, it usually only allows one version to be installed at any one time. installing one will automatically uninstall the other.

DIM doesn't work on my computer.

What does the default or 'included with' dynamic control do or not do compared with the dynamic clothing control plugin?

Now not even the default dynamic clothing tool shows up. And I've tried to reinstall DCC three times today and it's not showing up in 4.10.

Giving up on my missing dynamic clothing control plugin for now, since I have a deadline, I settled for being able to open the look at my hair plugin.

However, my fox is loading into the scene with no fur. Why? I can see in the scene tab it's supposed to be there, but it's not visible.

I finally managed to get LAMH to load the red fox as it should by deleting all occurrences of the free player, yet I still can't see the repeatedly installed dynamic clothing control tool as an option under panels. Ideas?

Is there a secondary way to get daz to see or find an installed plugin?

    1) Is the installer for DCC the correct one, i.e. matching the version of DAZ Studio you have installed? If you download the plugin today it will be for DS 4.10.0.123 which will NOT work with DS 4.7. (I'm referring back to your original post at the top of the thread where you had it working in DS4.10 but not DS 4.7)

    2) In DS4.10, have you looked at Help - About Installed Plugins (I'm not sure exactly what it's called and don't have my DS PC switched on right now) - does it list the DCC? Does it show it as green (installed and supposedly working) or red (needs the serial number to be input)?

I switched over to 4.10 so I could start learning dforce, which is also causing a roadblock for me. I don't see some of the needed tools, mainly the dforce modifier. So I tried #2 and it seems to have done the trick ... thanks :)

Now I just need to figure out why I don't have a dforce modifier option and how to weld seams of conforming outfits in Hex I want to drape. Ideas?

I assume the answer is yes, but have you downloaded and installed the dForce Starter Essentials from your Product Library?

After installing, you need to "Update and Merge Menus". You will find that as a menu item under the Window menu: Window->Workspace->Update and Merge Menus. (It goes away after you run it.)

ahhhh ... I didn't know there was something more to download other than 4.10 ... I shall go do that right now. Thanks :)

    You're welcome.

I'm glad I could finally do something to help! lol

Just don't ask me how to weld seams in Hex. I haven't got a clue!

(But if you check out my dForce thread, linked in my sig, you will find some ways to use weight maps with dForce that can help without the welding. In some situations, anyway.)
