Messed up ground in render

What is causing the messup in the ground textures?

    Is "Draw Gound" turned off under Render Settings>Environment?

    Yes it was on.  Should I turn it off?

    Yeah, try it off. If it's higher than the ground in the scene you'll see it poke thru. I pretty much always have it off unless I'm just testing stuff with no environment.
