Moving shaping/posing parameter dials and adding thumbnails?

As I accumulate more and more morphs, I'm finding there's a lot of inconsistancies in how dials are namesd and where they're placed.  Unfortunately, my aging brain simply can't keep track of why I have some face-shape morphs under Full Body and others under Head.  I remember that you CAN move the actual dials around, and I want to start moving the stray morphs to be with their brethren, but but I can't remember where the process was documented, as well as whether moving them would affect the installation of updates using DIM.  Does anyone have link to a tutorial on this somewhere?  Also, for my expressions I find I use the dials that have a thumbnail on them much more than the ones without.  Since there are usually thumbnails of the actual expressions attached to the preset pose versions, is there a simple process for copying these over and reusing them with the dials?

An individual property can be moved by using the gear icon on the slider to open Parameter Settings and editing the path (use / as a separator). For more extensive rearrangement right-click to put the Parameters pane in Edit mode and you can, as I recall, multi-select sliders and then right-click to set their path.

Thanks!  That's what I was half-remembering.  What about the issue of what happens if you install an upate?  Do the new versions get installed in the old default location or does the content management system/install manager have enough "memory" to steer everything to the new locations?

If you save the modified paths back to the assets they would be lost to an update, if you use a scene subset or character preset they should survive
