is there anything "stopping" Wolf 2.0 for Poser (https://www.daz3d.com/wolf-2-0-for-poser-by-am) from working in older versions of DS like DS2 or DS3?
I need a detailed wolf that does.

Well it uses poser dynamic hair for the fur, and that wouldn't work in DS at all.
That means exacty what? It wouldnt load? It wouldnt pose? It wouldnt render? Could i load it without the fur?

It would have no fur like in the images.
EDIT: you could use the 2.0 DAZ version instead: https://www.daz3d.com/wolf-2-0-by-am
EDIT of EDIT: Sorry, just realized that you were asking about older versions of DS. I don't know, but usually, you'd expect it to work. The older wolf might work better, though, as it was created in the timezone of the old versions: https://www.daz3d.com/wolf
The fur wouldn't work at all.
There's a "wolf - no fur" figure included according to the product page, and that one would probably load in DS, but I have no idea how well it would pose.
The materials listed are custom poser shaders and wouldn't work in DS, you'd have to create your own from the included textures.
I have the Daz Wolf, and its horrible and practically unusable. I may have to settle for AM's prior Wolf https://www.daz3d.com/wolf-by-am instead, but i need a decent wolf.

You can always buy it, and return it if it doesn't work in your version of DS.
i hate doing that, but i think thats the only way to know for sure.

Did that and unfortunately was disappointed with both. The "fur" doesnt load for either and without it, they dont look good at all.
Fortunately, i found a PA (Lynne) who made some free skins and morphs for the Daz Wolf and although they dont have "furry" fur, its decent enough and free, so im returning BOTH and just going with the Daz Wolf after all.
Thanks all for the assistance.
