Two nearly identical items in the store, why? - Answered

I see two nearly identical items in the store from the same vendor. There are two products that enable using G2F/V6 skin textures on G8F, but why are there two separate ones?
The G2F version
The V6 version
Needless to say, this is confusing, especially since one costs more than the other...

G2 era figures had custom UVs for the named base character morphs. Yes, all of them. So a texture for V6 would *not* necessarily match the UVs of base G2F. This holds for Genesis 1 as well. They finally did away with the custom UVs (which make no sense in most cases) with G3, I think. If not G3, then certainly by G8.
But, yes, if you are moving textures from G2 up to later figures, you do probably need both sets. *Most* PAs had defaulted to fitting everything onto G2F base, but there are anuy number of them who did use V6 UVs fr V6-based characters.
Good answer, thanks. Now I need to check to see if my recent crop of G2F characters are really G2F or V6. I think you're right about them being mostly G2F. I also have a ton of V4 content, so migrating texture sets up the food chain is definitely of interest to me.
V6 and G2F base UVs are not the same, that's why there are 2 items. Named characters used to have their own custom UVs before G8.
Edit: looks like JOdel was quicker than I was ;)
I believe you can convert a texture with V6 uvs to G2F uvs tho. Do a search in the forums - I know it's in there.
