Is Gen9 getting ready to show up?

All the deep discounts of the Gen8 family just recently, I can't help but think Gen9 is getting ready to surface. This has been their trend since Gen5, pro bundles going for $37 bucks to fast grab prices and then we spend all our money snapping them up and right on their heels came the next generation.

Nope. DAZ_Steve said that Gen 9 wasn't coming out this year. It's in another thread around here somewhere.

    Ah, here you go:

yeah, as above, no gen9 for a while.

Doing it to focus a bit more on the Studio itself and its features. Good move in my opinion

Also ask yourself: what improvements would warrant the release of a Gen9? The release of Gen8 was already questionable, and I haven't yet heard of any technologies that would really improve it, other than simply making it a higher poly figure. While some areas of the mesh could definitely use some additional detail, I just don't see this happen anytime soon either. The one thing that helped getting customers to invest into G8, is probably that G3 and G8 can use the same textures, and that even clothes and poses are relatively easy to exchange between the two. G8's biggest flaw is probably that it can't (conveniently) use G3 morphs. That last part means, that people who mostly use one or more specific G3 figures (for example, people making comics) have NO reason whatsoever to invest in G8 figures: they simply can't, for consistency of their figures' appearanc. But, they can at least relatively easily use G8 assets on their G3 figures.

Some technology that I would expect in some future generations:
-Built in micropressure morphs synergizing with dForce assets
    -Some new modular skeleton/rigging system
-Realistic flesh and muscle tissue behavioural calculations (maybe around Gen12)
-Realistic muscle stretching (only after the previous one got implemented, so maybe around Gen 15)
