How do I fit tattoos on the torso?
in The Commons
Does anyone know of a method to line up tattoos correctly on the torso in DAZ? I've been working on this full back tattoo for a character but I've been trying for days to get it to line up correctly.

Hi, welcome on Daz forum :D
What product are you using?
If you're using decals, you can move them around like you would with any other item, and they'll "project" themselves to the surface of the character.
If you're using a standard tattoo set, you can't move its position automatically! You'll have to modify the texture yourself, with an external software or with the included Layered Image Editor, in order to do that:
Are you trying to plae it over the seam in the middle of the back? I've been experimenting with that as well and gave up for the moment. I guess one has to adjust it in photoshop or gimp.
Alternatively you could try with decal (won't help my case though)
Yeah, exactly. My tattoo goes right in the middle of the back but it always comes out uneven. I don't know what to do.
That's where Decals are useful, as long as you are rendering in Iray.
I had to deal with this when I did my Suicide Squad Harley Quinn Tattoo set. Basically, I had to create two copies of the tattoo that crossed the seam (in GIMP, each on their own seperate layer), then reposition each layer and test the result in DAZ until the tattoo lined up correctly.
I was thinking that this is the solution. For the average user without an UV mapper the additional challenge is that it need to be adapted to the curve the map makes on the back seam
