Loading poses on genesis 8 figures offsets eyelashes

So I've just discovered that if I load poses that aren't specifically for genesis 8 on to a genesis 8 figure, it applies the pose with a slight offset to the eyelashes - they float several centimeters infront of the eye.

The poses itself comes in mostly fine, sometimes I have to tweak the arms to get it look right, but the lashes breaks.  Anyone has any experience with this?

Thanks much!

Is this all poses, poses originally for a specific figure, or just select poses?

  • Heya, sorry let me be clearer, for example, if I use Alexandra, the poses she comes with works perfectly, but poses from a pose package is rather hit and miss. If it's made specifically for genesis 8, it tends to work fine. Otherwise even if the pose loads correctly, I get these small offsets on the eye lashes. I've tested this in a fresh dazstudio after a reboot, the results are pretty consistent.

I just tried Genesis 8 Female with Sydney shape applied manually and the Base Pose Kneeling A pose from the Starter Essentials, the eyelashes seem OK after that.

Thanks for testing on your end man, I just did some more testing myself - i used Alexandra and the poses from here

    https://www.daz3d.com/ig-100-must-have-poses-for-genesis-8-females

Turns out it only affects the HD version of the rig, (eg: Alexandra HD). If i load this on to a non HD genesis 8 character, it works fine!

If I load the HD files on to an existing (working) character, the eyelashes gets offset again. So we've narrow this down a little more at least..

I don't have that pose set - do you see problems with the base Genesis 8 Female poses, or other poses sets from different pro Bundles (I haev very few non-bundled poses sets)? What happens if you apply the pose to the base, then set the morphs (standard, then HD)?

  • As long as standard morphs are used, it doesn't matters which pose sets i use, they all work.

Bundled poses also work, on HD and normal morphs. So it looks like it's mostly pose packages that gives this problem.

Lastly I've tested on another HD character and...it looks like this problem only exists on Alexandra HD. I'm unable to replicate this on any other figures!

It's great that we've managed to really isolate this problem tho unfortunately it doesn't quite solve the problem. Though the current work-around is to use the normal version of her.

Please report this to Daz, via a Technical Support ticket https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us and giving the steps to reproduce the issue.

  • Will do, thanks

Alexandra 8 HD was updated very recently. Are you using the latest version? The readme has this comment:

    2019-04-30 - Updated projection morphs.
