We all go eventually, but this is sad. He was by all accounts, a great person.

I seem to recall that he shared a scan of the original Star Wars script on Twitter that showed Han Solo was indeed supposed to shoot first, but it was edited or re-shot to make it ambiguous because producers did not want the hero acting so ruthlessly.
Yes, he was. I met him a few times at Dragon Con and Celebration III; even got to have drinks with him. He was very friendly and personable.
