Working on a make-up set: input appreciated!

I am working on a make-up set (with poses) and so far I've included the following:

- Mascara
- Eyebrow pencil
- Different sizes of eyeshadow pans
- Lipstick
- Nailpolish (square and round bottles)
- Nailpolish remover
- Powder
- Large brush
- Eyeshadow applicators
- Blender (the egg shaped one)
- Lipgloss
- Foundation
- Make-up wipes
- Contouring
- Eyeliner
- Lipliner
- Small brushes
- Mirror
- Make-up bag

Everything comes with several color options. I think I've included the most common things, but I am curious if there's anything else that I've overlooked that might come in handy?

That's already way more items than I use ^^ but I would add blush and concealer.

I don't wear make-up as often as I used to, but when I do I still slap the lot on. The only thing I can immediately see that's in my make-up bag but not on the list are eyebrow tweezers. If my sarky husband is to be believed then there's probably room for a plastering trowel as well :)

Oh yes, I see several missing items :

    1) tweezers

    2) Those very small scissors - technically I think they are called cuticle scissors

    3) Those eyelash curling scissors (sounds bizarre but I've seen them with my own eyes)

    4) fingernail clippers

    5) hair iron (I think that's what it's called maybe it's called a hair straightener - its to take the curl out of the hair)

    6) hair crimper - it puts waves in the hair

    7) curling iron

And these things I think exist in other products but it would be nice to have in a comprehensive set of makeup kit

    1) curlers

    2) bobby pins and similar hair restrait things

    3) serveral types of scissors

    4) hair clippers with attachments

    5) hair net

    6) hair cover

    7) hair spray & hair gel

    8) hair dye / hair straightener - matter of the labels on the same geometry mostly

    9) soap & shampoo

    10) serveral types of combs & brushes

Those would work creat in any bathroom or beauty saloon.

That's all I can think of but I don't use makeup only notice a bit what others use.

    Look forward to your product.

Oh yes - don't forget the anti-wrinkle serum and anti-aging foundation for Edie and Mabel etc :)

You have foundation and powder,  could have the loose powder in a bowl that needs a powder puff.

maybe add a highlighter to go with the blusher Leana mentioned.

Add an all in one face base,  the ones that are foundation and powder in one application.

I have https://www.daz3d.com/scandalous-makeup-set, but it doesn't have Iray materials. So something new might be nice.

Thanks for all the input! There are some things mentioned here that I'll definitely add :)
I am not sure about the beauty appliances though (curling iron) but will take it in concideration!

@Barbult Ah yes, that seems to be an older set (although it looks good!) I'll also be adding poses because posing fingers around those tiny things can be a pita!

It was the way mascara was from the 50s to the 70s (in a rectangular box) but it is coming back as a zero waste kind of thing : https://www.amazon.com/cake-mascara/s?k=cake+mascara

*** VERY IMPORTANT : Hand Poses for applying mascara, eye shadow, nail polish, lipstick, etc

    Additions/Options:

= make-up box (multi-layered with compartment for each category suggested above)

= small mirror with foundation and puff kit (can be opened or closed)

= eye shadow kit (at least 8 different slots for chosen colors)

= make up bag that can be zipped (different sizes depending on content)

= nail polish kit (with compartments for at least 4 bottles)

    * texture and material options for both iray and 3dl

Looking forward for this awesome "comprehensive" product.

You know that that might actually be a nice idea? Especially for the poses part.

There's no easy way to do that nowadays. Even Logan Scodini (who knows what he's doing) had to "trick" a nail painting scene.

I have a make-up pack here. Everyday Cosmetics

It's fairly old now, but it's on my to do list of products to update for Iray. In fact, I actually have the files in my work folder ready to be looked at when I get the time.

Anyway, it has some of the things mentioned above - Hairdryer, hairbrush, nail polish, etc.

  • Please do both G3 and G8 poses. Male poses too, and poses for applying to someone else would be wonderful. Those could be used with all kinds of scenes: LGBT+ characters, makeup store, makeup artists working on actors, teen/tween sleepovers, etc.

I used these on a book cover that I sold a while back (last year I think). It paid for itself and a for a few other things too with that sale.

Please, please could you do arm poses as well as hand? I have a few makeup and similar props, with lovely hand poses (for older characters like V4) but getting the posed hand and lipstick up to the right place on the lips, or the mascara to the eyelashes can take sooo long.

Everyday Cosmetics are in today's grab bag sale, too. Maybe Sylvan can concentrate on items that aren't already covered by existing products. It would be unfeasible to make EVERYTHING. The poses sound like an excellent idea.

One can certainly do most of the types. Of course it helps that the geometry for most of the items is simple.

Also, if it's designed correctly, you design the electrical cord once and make it an attachment for the electrical products like curling iron, hair straightener, blow dryer, hair crimper, clippers and so on. Or you could pretend this is 10 years in the future and all those items are rechargable without electric cords.

I have a series of renders I'd like to do with this kit & the included poses. I am looking forward to the product.

Thanks for all your cool input, there's definitely some things that I'd love to include! If this gets the thumbs up, I'll keep you posted in the commercial threads :)
