I bought this product and find it awesome but for one thing, what does the extract pose script do.. I run it after using the pose sliders for the desired pose, it says it has done something but not sure what I am supposed to do after that..
Update: Worked out what it does, feel a bit silly as was trying to figure out what it is meant to do, until I saw that the pose dials reset but leaving the completed pose reading for saving..

The script converts all the slider pose information into standard rotations. After running the script, you can save your pose and load again without needing the pose architect.

Thank you for the help, yeah worked it out after noticing the sliders reset after running it but leaving the set pose.. Feel a bit silly not realizing until after I made this thread.. lol
You do not have to use the script to get the same effect, as the functionalty is already in DS. Just press Shift-B and it pops up the "Bake to Transforms" dialog, then press accept. This has the advantage of also baking in any other pose controls you may have used. However I did notice that the 3DU script runs a lot faster than Bake to Transforms.
Ya, I picked this up yesterday & was totally lost until I found this vid:
The author should REALLY change the pop up message after you applied the script.
Instead of this confusing message:
When in fact it DID do something. Why not simply state: Check Your Figures Newly Added Pose Controls!
The script that you clicked and that message have nothing to do with adding dials. Those get added when you install the product. The script is only used to convert the dial settings to a standard pose. You get that message from the script if you haven't set any dials and hence the message is exactly what it should be.

Indeed, also it is worth pointing out that the script zeros out the values in any of the control dials (since the values are moved to the figures bones), and thus a message saying that "no control dials are set" is thus correct.
First a bit of a gripe, then a pretty serious question.
OK. I bought this
Product page calls them this: Pose Architect for Genesis 8 Female(s)
https://www.daz3d.com/pose-architect-for-genesis-8-females
The Document page lists the product as this: Pose Architect for Genesis 8 Female(s)
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/58537/start
and yet in the Smart Content, it's only listed as Extract Pose.
Howz about correcting this to reflect the gender?
And as mentioned in another thread, this message with first use REALLY needs updating as it's completely misleading:
The script actually did a TON of things and should instead say something like "Look at the new controls in your Characters Pose Controls".
But the real question is that after finally finding where & how to use the script, now with a fresh session, even the default genesis 8 basic female.duf now loads with all the Pose Architect controls! It's not a bad thing as far as I can tell, but doesn't sound like a script should be doing that.
Tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials, but the controls are still there.
Someone might want to investigate further.
Yeah, I picked this up the other day and so far I find it a bit confusimg and so far haven't really found them useful.
Yeah, the message is exactly what is meant. If you haven't set any of the pose dials, there is nothing for the script to extract.
It shouldn't be the very first message lyou see though.
What exactly do you think it should say? By running the script before setting any of the Pose dials, the script has nothing to do.
To recap - the script runs through all the Pose dials that have been set on the figure, working out what effect they have on each joint. The joint positions are then set automatically and the Pose dials are reset to 0. If none of the Pose dials are set, the script has nothing to do.
The script doesn’t create the Pose dials, these are created by installing the product.
All good info that could/should be in a readme file. How is that common knowledge?
You see, having never used the product & using the DIM to install, I'm looking for a script to run. I find the script, run it & get an error message. So now I (and you) spend an inordinate amount of time trying to find out what's going on, realtive to what a simple message would have taken care of.
