No Genesis 9?

So, according to facebook page comments as well as forum posts here, apparently Daz themselves revealed that there's isn't going to be a Genesis 9 coming this year as they want to focus on the technology aspect of the application. If this is true, I would like to be directed to this commentary, because this is rather big, rather welcomed news to me.

I agree. I'm glad Genesis 9 is being held off for at least a little while. I invested a lot with morphs from G8. :D

Still valid a statement if I'm posting it as a question, meaning I'm asking for the proper context.
Yes, a brief reprieve. Hopefully it won't be TOO brief. LOL

Any ideas about which new funcionalities in content and Studio might be?
Lots of as yet uknown details as to what's been added to dForce, among other things that I've seen mentioned in the changelogs for the private beta version. http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#private_build_channel
Thank God.
There are a lot of other aspects of DS that needed to be addressed before we got yet another generation of figures, things like softbody collisions, better animation features and internal mocap, true dynamic hair...
I'm more excited with the DS news more than G9! I for one cannot wait 'til Q2-4!
Actually speaking of Genesis 9 what could they actually DO TO the Genesis 8 mesh that wouid umprove it enough to warrant a Genesis 9? Make it more compatible with standard video game models like both Genesis 3 or Genesis 8 were said to be improved to be that way? I doubt game models have changed since to need further changes for the sake of a Genesis 9 product. That leaves making changes to Genesis 8 simply to have a reason to have a Genesis 9 and that's not very good customer relations.
That leaves things like dynamic hair, dynamic bodies including muscles and fat that shakes and flexes and compresses, modern animation capabilities, and other features so they can add those things to Genesis 9, Genesis 10, and so on but beforehand DAZ Studio itself needs to support that so they can develop and test on what their customers will actualy be using. And for someone like me with a 7 year old laptop that means that I'll almost with certainty have to upgrade my hardware to run the new DAZ Studio once I try to do real dynamic fat blubber shaking and rolling and the like.
Whoa! Massive, massive changes to DAZ Studio must be coming. The pose & render days of DAZ Studio are virtually static now so if that's all you're really interested in in DAZ 3D then you can relax and see what's already in the DAZ Store that you like.
Yes, definitely... a lot of interesting small and large things going on, like this one in .260:
"Added a “Detriangulate…” action; mesh must be constructed entirely of triangles; mesh must have an even number of triangles; triangles must be adjacent, both visually and facet order"
or this one from 298:
"Update to NVIDIA Iray 2018.1.2 (312200.1281); changes low level Shader Mixer bricks; adds DzMdlMathDX, DzMdlMathDY, DzMdlMathEvalAtWavelength, DzMdlMathMaxValueWavelength, DzMdlMathMinValueWavelength; removes DzMdlBaseRadinv2"
Personally, I'm glad that there's no G9 this year.
Hmmm... I'm not sure if it's good news...
I mean more there are morphs in my library slower is the loading of one G8M figure.
Valid true, but still the poster is correct; not posting all the information is misleading, or inaccurate.
Since both threads are in the Commons I am locking this one.
