I bought Leon today, and whilst I do think he needs some emotions (I can't see any in the pack!) I have to say he's a fantastic little chap! He's a pleasure to work with and render:

Leon and his little companion in the sunshine

His face is so natural and full of character - he could be the class nerd or equally the mischief maker.

Looking forward to seeing what @Vyusur releases for this little gem soon!

Thank you for your kind words! So beautiful render! I'm happy that you like my kid.

So made and autofit clone seems to work well, here is is sporting some G8M wardrobe

Wow! How did you do that? I don't know how to create a clone for a figure.

He looks super cute. The kind of talent and the incredible amount of work that must have gone into him for him to be a unique stand-alone figure is impressive! :)

Thank you very much for your kind words!

    Leon in Carrara  smiley

Very nice scene and dynamic composition, Dave! I'm glad you like him. I also planned to render him with some toys.

Has anyone used Measure Metrics on him? I'm curious how tall he actually is.

    His height is 122,55 cm

3dOutlaw has tutorial on their site you can download, it’s for V4 to Dawn but it works for Leon too.  I’m not sure if it’s ok to link to the site though.

So you are able to use the G8 wardrobe with him? I have not had the time to learn Dforce yet.

I was going to purchase last night but the site kept timing out.  I didn't even realize that he is not G8 based and have removed him from my cart.  sad

  • Another possibility for converting clothes is to make adjustments in Marvelous Designers. I recently saw a tutorial where you export the .obj into Marvelous Designer and load it as clothing. Once you run a simulation, you can basically make the adjustments you need. Then you can save the file back out as a .obj and load into DAZ as a morph file. I was surprised at how well it worked.

Ok, I found this thread about V4 clone creation. I didn't try it personally, but maybe it would help someone somehow.

Not by default, but you can if you create a G8 clone for Leon yourself.

This tutorial uses the fact that G1 has a V4 clone included and basically "transfers" the clone morph to G8, the "V4 to Dawn" case is closer to what you need to do for G8 to Leon.

The basic idea is to create a "G8M shape" (sometimes adjusted to get a better conversion) morph for Leon, save it as a morph asset, then edit the morph asset properties to resave it as a clone morph.

you can also use Zprojection in Zbrush or the morph brush in Poser to get a closer approximation from scaled and posed shapes expoirted as obj

    or shrinkwrap in Blender

Though presumably items that work with dForce might be adjusted to fit the base pose (or a specially made pose) and then simulated.

In fact Autofit is an "very old" feature, dForce is maybe a more "efficient" method today.

AutoFit, however, requires a clone shape - distributing a Genesis clone for Leon would require licensing from Daz, just as a Leon clone for a Genesis would require a license from Vyusur

Ok, so I know I can’t send the morph of the shape I made to sorta match the shape of Genesis 8 male to a Vyusur, but it is it acceptable to write down all the parameter dials I changed to get Leon to that shape? Or is that still against the Eula because of the shape since it’s not the actual obj or duf file?

Yes, giving the "recipe" for your morph would be acceptable.

After seeing this thread, could not resist any longer, so I got him, as well.

It would be really nice to have a Genesis 8 male clone for him, to get other clothes fitted nicely.

Yes, giving the "recipe" for your morph would be acceptable.

It should save as a shaping and or posing preset

A clone recipe would be helpful for this numpty.

Bought him. Hope there is a youngster girl and yea, I agree with Jash147, at least a recipe for a clone set up would be helpful!

I will look at the dials I changed and post them here, it’s definitley far from perfect but it does work

I'd be interested in the recipe too, thanks @dkgoose

Ok, sorry for the late response... here’s the dials I used, like I said it’s far from perfect, also if you follow Redz tutorial you can transfer some morphs over too, again, they are far from perfect and will have distortions

    Z Translate 2036
    Scale 151.2

    Right Thigh Bend
    side-side -5.21

    Right Shoulder Bend

    Left Shoulder Bend
    bend -43.03

    i made a pose myself

    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/uploads/FileUpload/ae/39e7625595286cf36e52c08930c269.duf

you need to export obj's of the clothing though as using the transfer utility on them after converting to prop they scale back up to G8M size

    G8M pose for clothing.duf
