Has anyone actually seen this Nvidia GTC demo?

See: https://techcrunch.com/2019/03/18/nvidia-ai-turns-sketches-into-photorealistic-landscapes-in-seconds/?yptr=yahoo

I don't want a discussion of this to turn into, "But is it art?" but, Yikes! Actually, as a way to generate backgrounds to throw characters into, it looks pretty amazing.

Looks like fun - a few things need tidying up where objects overlap but if they can sort that out it could be extended to all kinds of things.

Very cool. I'll be on the lookout for that. I currently use Digital Art Painter quite a bit and am amazed at the results it can produce. I often use the results very subtly overlaid on an image to give it more texture, slightly more color etc.  It might be a faux-AI, but it generates styles replicating their namesakes, Van Gogh, LeRoy, Monet, Etc by using similar color palettes, and brush strokes.  In photography (and why not on renders too) PhotoLemur uses AI to calculate improvements in a multitude of areas from contrast, color, exposure, tone, etc to create enhanced images. Again, used as a seasoning rather than a full meal, it can produce amazing results.

This image has a slight overlay of a Digital Art Painter version of the image itself to add some color effects.

Nice. Now all you need is AI generated actors from https://www.thispersondoesnotexist.com/ plus there are plenty of online story generators. It may or may not be art, but it'll probably be better than half of what Hollywood churned out last year.

Need online trolls to complain about your new movie? Microsoft has you covered: Microsoft 'deeply sorry' for racist and sexist tweets by AI chatbot

  • I want to try it!

Nice! I just googled "Digital Art Painter" but I'm not coming up with anything that looks like an art software program. Do you have a link to it? Thanks! Another cool landscape generator is FlowScape. It's really a game but it has a built-in camera to snap a screen shot. smiley

OOPS - apologies for the misdirect. I always refer to it as "DAP" so the actual words slipped my mind, it is, in fact, DYNAMIC Art Painter.
