Are you trying to make it harder, DAZ?

I save images of the products I buy so that I can put them in a folder on my art computer as a reference to products I own.
It was simple - (WAS!).
Right click on the image, "Save Image As", and save it as a .PNG file.

But now, the images want to save as a .WEBP file, which I've never seen before, and Windows doesn't recognize.
So now I have to take a screenshot, paste into Gimp, crop to just the image, and export as a .png.
Why, DAZ? Why are you wasting my time like this?
I know I'm not a PA, just a lowly customer, but yeah, my time is valuable, too.

It's not DAZ3D, it's CloudFlare, as far as we can tell. The PAs are required to use JPG format for promotional images. Edited to add: there is already a thread on this topic, and I think it's on page 2 of this section.

I think it may only be the main image. The others seem to be jpg. There are online converters. https://www.ps2pdf.com/convert-webp-to-jpg

Thanks for the link. Just another step.
But yeah, it's the thumbnails, too.

I'm on Chrome, I get jpgs. What browser are you using?

You can get the webp codecs from Google.  It's their thing.

I don't have a link handy, but you can google it.  Once you've installed those into your computer, you should be able to veiw webp pics just fine.

Myself, I'm not a fan of needing to adopt yet another image format (we have a lot already) but supposedly webp has some advantages (size maybe, animation perhaps, I don't really know).

  • never saw this one before either so had to try saved a promo image as thhis new formet then tried to open view it in paintshop pro 2019 ultimate and was ok so would make sense those with photoshop should be able to too though I don't know about others oh and  I can see the image in my pictures folder where I downloaded it to too I'm on W10 Pro btw maybe new image format ppart of that?

Here is how to revert Firefox to show jpg again:

    1. In address bar type about:config
    2. Accept that "this will void your warranty"
    3. in search box below enter webp

    You will see 3 rows:

    image.http.accept -- change to contain only */*
    image.webp.enabled -- change to false
network.http.accept.default -- remove image/webp, (note one comma character which you also remove)

You must clear the cache and refresh the page for that to take effect.

In Google Chrome, the only way is to change the User-Agent string using developer tools or an extension, and if you are going to fake User-Agent, then you are better off not using Chrome browser in the first place.

One of the many reasons I prefer firefox

Since there's already a thread on this, and sicne a workaround has been given, I'm locking this one.
