As a character maker I like making full characters.

So I went and made a medusa character as I wanted a medusa character to look. But I also realized how customers may want to make their own versions, so I then broke the idea into two pieces. the Medusa maker will allow you to make a Medusa using any character in your G8F library. The the Medusa Gorgon is a full character made using the Medusa maker set, built from my imagination.

I hope you like these Gals, I am quite proud of how they turned out

That was a clever move, there is one question: can I apply the snake tail separately from the head part with the medusa maker?

Yes you can, but you will have to turn off the Head and Neck portion of the Geoshell to hide the scales on the head.....and turn the morph for the "Snake Bumps" off on the head (Head/People/Fantasy SciFi)

This is an awesome product. I love the fact that I can use any character to make my own Medusa. And I love your character too (as always)...wink

How posable is the snake hair? The difference in promos between the maker and the Gorgon suggests very, but I'm not sure if that's partly a morph. Do they stick out from the head when zeroed?

The snakes stick out straight when zero'd...they are very posable, and even the jaw opens and closes. There are even scaling and shaping options on them as well. So can be alot of fun.

When I saw this in the email, I thought it had to be RawArt’s work.  Great job and I will get it soon.

I've been wanting a new Medusa. Excellent work! I can't afford to buy her right away, but both items will be in my cart waiting for when the next paycheck comes in. :)

This is one of RawArt's best, yes; lots of stuff, lots of features and options.

Was insta-buy (Medusa Maker) for me. I probably wouldn't have bought the "single" Medusa Character.

Seeing the snakes drapping back, I'm reminded of this hilarious entry from "Slack Wyrm", a web comic.

That's one way of doing it!

    Thanks for that link!

One cool thing that some might not notice right away is that the snake length can be increased A LOT. This makes it easier to make gorgons with both human hair and snakes (like I prefer), the snakes don't get lost in the hair. I want to take a look at the geoshell and it's maps next to see if the transparency can be edited as well (although the default blend that Rawn included is fine).

Does this work well without the tail?

Oso3D's pic above looks like it was done without the tail.

I'm afraid this is only a rough render for now, as it's already stupid o'clock in the morning, it needs more work and overnight rendering would be impractical (given this computer is in my bedroom).

This isn't exactly entirely within the confines of my contemporary fantasy setting (as for that I've already defined that gorgons have legs rather than tails), but it's certainly taking cues from it by making gorgons less of a lethal threat and more of a regular part of society.

    ^Neat :)

Shouldn't this still be in the 'Still Mad' section? It's not showing for me on the sale page (though it's still in the store at 40% off so that's ok)

Two very different spins upon Medusa.  If the second doesn't make you cry, then your heart is already stone.

Okay, I am probably missing something simple but how do you hide the legs/feet for her. Both with the character and adding my own character I end up with legs feet showing. I know I can put her in the classic T pose to hide some but I still get half her legs and feet showing. So confused...I've spent the last hour searching for a way. I was hoping someone else would ask the question but I really want to try her out

Never mind...I figured it out...it was something quite silly. Apparently for whatever reason I had the geometry shell editor selected while I have been working in Daz for the last little bit. I was playing around and realized I didn't have the object selector highlighted. As soon as I did....Voila...all fixed

How careless! I've never done anything so stupid except for the several hundred times.

    heheh
