I'm not that experienced with animations in DazStudio but I guess somewhere in AniMate2 you have the option to "Bake to Studio Keys" or something called like that.
This will place the keyframes of the AniBlock onto the Timeline pane for further editing.
Then you have to select the Left Collar bone/node hold down Ctrl and also select the Right Collar bone. Next right-click one of the bones in the Scene pane and choose Select>Select Children to have all subsequent nodes/bones in the arms selected. Now you can go to the main menu and execute Edit>Figure>Clear>Clear Selected Items. This will delete all keyframs of the arms from the timeline and they don't move anymore.
You can now create a new AniBlock from the timeline walking animation without the arm movement. Then create the desiered arm pose on a second animation layer with "add" behaviour. Basicly you could create a layer for the walking animation and a second layer for the arm movement/pose.
Here are some official Daz video tutorials explaining a bit about animation layers and Bake to Studio Keyframes:
Using Layers in aniMate2
Create Your Own aniBlock
Yeah, Syrus's way would totally work, or if you have keymate, bake the studio keyframes from the aniblock and then you can go into keymate and delete the arm stuff there, which I find easier. I wouldn't make a new aniblock though, I would just keyframe the arms however you want and leave the legs alone from the aniblock, that's what I've been doing a lot.
how old is animate 2 now ?
and nothing new in sight ?
The maker "Gofigure" seems not interested in further updates.
so unless Daz is Planning to surprise us animators with a new system of
their own,
I would say no ...nothing on the horizon
