i'd love something like this too.

imo the private-eye stuff is different, old-style, too many wanted posters... fits better in a noir context (which it is prolly been created for) than anything recent ^^

This has a few things which might be useful in creating something like that.

The chances are you will have to kit bash something and do a bit of retextureing.

You would need to tailor any conspiracy prop to suit your particular conspiracy, presuming you want to sell the conspiracy to the audience, and not just reinforce the character's paranoia.

If you have something specific in mind I think you at least must retexture it.

You can also add or build your own partly just using Daz primitives. Although modelling shouldn't be that had, as it is mainly planes, some with a bit a bending.

What good conspiracy is complete without a copy of 'The Catcher In The Rye'? LOL

That can be done in Photoshop. Or build one on a wall and take a picture. Yes, it might be nice to CLICK --> RENDER but it seems the Artists focus on characters and fantasy costumes. I am constantly filling in the blanks when the Daz store can't deliver.

  • It wouldn't be hard to make - just time consuming.  A bunch of flat primitives with crumpled paper images to pop into bump or displacement, and a lot of tacks to put it all on the wall.  String is easy, excpecially if you aren't getting up close - just use a tubular primitive stretched out thin to go from tack to tack, and find a rope displacement map and tile it small, if you need texture, which you might not if you aren't getting too close.  The big thing will be coming up with all the texctures to put on your bits of paper :-)

  • Thank you everybody!! These are amazing tips and suggestions. Will make an artwork of conspiracy like soon. Thanks againsmiley

Just so you know, the bulletin board in Private Eye Office does have the papers divided into a few different material zones... it is not difficult to replace the content of the papers in Photoshop or similar.  "too many wanted posters" can be easily solved.

true! ^^ - no threads tho... and for a modern investigation office (especially police), unless the detective is a bit of a slob, it looks a bit chaotic...
ah well, if i ever need sth like this i guess i'll have to kitbash, get creative and gimp around.
or maybe "someone" has read this and is thinking of create one such prop? *wink wink nudge nudge*

  • Funny, I see boards like that in lots of TV and movie detective and police stuff.
