Regarding RTX series and Daz Studio BETA.

So I was think of getting an RTX, but before buying it. I would like to first clear my doubts. Plus, I am a rookie.

I just wanted to ask, will I be able to do all my work on Daz Studio 4.11 Beta??? With all work, I mean, I will uninstall 4.10 and I will work my whole project on 4.11 beta.

And by the way when will 4.11 get out of Beta??

Thank you guys.

  • I'd run the two alongside each other.. you can then use 4.11 to render.. but if you need something specific you can always load up 4.10.

Sorry my english is not that good. But what you said, does it mean I would be able to load scenes in 4.11 which were saved from 4.10?

Edit: Also, is the content on daz shop compatible with 4.11???

Yes, both should be fine :)

I've been running on only 4.11 and haven't had any issues using my previous scenes. My 2080TI does seem to dislike some render settings (yet to narrow down which exactly) and will refuse to render the occasional scene until the settings are changed. Outside of that, it rips. Excited for the implementation of the new version of Optix... eventually.

I use DS 4.11.0.236 almost exclusively, because of the denoiser and other improvements. I have not had many problems. There are a couple issues I've noticed, though:

    1. 4.11.0.236 beta is unable to open some files that are in ".daz" format. Most of those same files can be opened in 4.10. Those are files in older products.
    2. I also noticed that the "black eyes" problem (when the character is moved away from the world center 0,0,0) is worse in DS 4.11 Beta than in DS 4.10.

Both issues have been reported to Daz3D customer service. I don't know whether anything will be done about them, though.

The black eyes thing is worse for you? I've only had it happen with one specific environment loaded in 4.11. Other than that I've yet to see it at all in 4.11

Yes, what observed is that I can move the character further from 0,0,0 in DS 4.10 than in DS 4.11, before the black eyes start happening. The scene that caused problems in 4.11 rendered OK in 4.10.

  • Strange. like I said I've only had it happen in one environment in 4.11, it happens pretty consistently in that one but I've rendered some others 900+ units from origin with no problem.

Hey guys, I also want to ask, If RTX series in laptops is compatible with Daz3d? I will buy a desktop version too but as I am always moving, I also need a Laptop with RTX. But I don't know if laptop versions of RTX are compatible with Daz Studio 4.11 beta. Thank you.

  • The laptop version might not have as much memory, but it should otherwise be the same as the one in a desktop computer. The drivers are the same.

Yeah, I know laptop GPUs aren't recomended for rendering but I travel most of the time. So I also need a slim powerful laptop, for which RTX is perfect, slim & powerful.

    Thank you guys :)
