Recommendation for IRAY capable GPU

Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, as I'm almost exclusively rendering in Iray now, and my Radeon card is obviously not cutting it. My current system is:
AMD FX-8329 Vishera 8-Core @ 3.5 GHz
Asus 970 Pro MB (maxed to 16 Gb of RAM)
Radeon RX 470 8 Gb
Samsung 500 Gb SSD
I'm unsure if I should be looking at the GTX 1060 or 1070 series. I assume that 8 Gb of memory is better than 6 Gb, but that's about it. I'm looking to spend between $300 - $400 on an upgrade card. (Unless I should be upgrading something else first?)
For what it's worth, my renders are usually portrait style, 1-2 figures max. I use my PC for Photoshop, Illustrator, and the random Neflix/Spotify/gaming session. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ugh, I totally forgot that I asked pretty much the same question in April 18, and the general concensus was that a 1070 8 Gb card would probably be best. (Not sure if 10 months has changed anything, though...)
If you can find a GTX 10 series videocard cheaply then go for one. I have the GTX 1080.
The GTX 10 series of cards are expensive for me. Any outfit that will ship one to me is asking a crazy amount of money for one. I had to go with an RTX 2080, 8 GBs. I use it in conjuction with my GTX 1080 now. It's a great a card for Iray rendering but it will work only with DAZ Studio beta and the 417.71 driver. You can't upgrade the driver any higher until a new DAZ Studio beta is released compatible with the changes made to the latest drivers.
I use a GTX 1060 with 6 GB
If you can find a 1070 for $400 and can really afford it get it. However a 1060 should handle 1 or 2 person portraits.
If your "careful" you can fit quite a bit on a 6Gb card. The image below was done on a GTX 970M with 6Gb (yes, a laptop), it has two G3F figures. one G2F figure, and one Genesis figure. I didn't use any scene optimization either. I agree, an 8Gb GPU would be better, but if you can't get one with 8Gb, you can still do some great images with 6Gb.
I would possibly be looking at the newer 1660Ti when they are released as they are supposedly faster than a 1070..
Generally, the scenes I create aren't nearly as elaborate as the one you posted, so it's good to know that a 6 Gb card could handle it. That said, I think I can afford an 8 Gb card, so I may as well go with the 1070.
