Why are we losing so many ancient PAs this year?

So Eva1, RingoMonfort, Rajraja, Ness, Noggin, Blondie9999, Valea, Orion, Idler, Jim Burton, Gareee, Redspark, Debra Ross (!!), Mairy/3Dream (why?!?!?!), and friggin' Mallenlane of all people ...  We've lost all non-Daz Original Bryce content except from ForbiddenWhispers, Horo, David Brinnen, and (soon to disappear) Eva1.

Umm...not sure why my name has been added here... I'm still very much a vendor here and all the products I have made are still in the store...

Redspark is still around, though their store is no longer up here on Daz due to inactivity (according to their FB). Last I heard, they were thinking of moving Chip, et all to Hivewire, but who knows if anything will come from that, especially since it's based off of another PA's existing figure (Cookie). From the sound of things, they had a really rough 2 years which lead to said inactivity, so I don't think it was entirely fair to jettison their store from Daz when other PAs that haven't been active in years' stores are still around... but it's not my place to judge/speculate further than that. :V

I am desperately seeking a location to purchase Chip! and his wardrobe. I searched HiveWire with no success. I've seen 2 places online but they look a little skeevy to me. Does anyone know how to contact Redspark to determine where to get a copy of Chip!  ?

Yea ! Chip is back: https://www.daz3d.com/chip

This also means that almost all Vue and Carrara content is already gone or about to disappear.  This is utterly, completely absurd!  "Oh, durr hurr, make new products or leave, derp derp!"  Ugh!  This was one of the things that I loved about DAZ and RDNA over Renderosity.

BTW, currently there are only 189  bryce products left on Daz store.  199 for Carrarra, and 51 for Vue.  It won't be long before Daz might as well just up and retire all 3 software products, because there won't be any add-ons left in the store.

Wait.. I'm Gone? Why does no one tell me these things? An d who do I blame for the garbage after my name??

Pas have to produce new content every so often to remain in the store I believe. If you want something by a pa it’s always s good idea to buy it as soon as you can. You never know what will happen.

Um, no.  That's not true.  DAZ keeps products in the store as long as they continue to sell, and they don't have to sell much for DAZ to keep them in the store.

I haven't produced a new product for several YEARS now... and yet, my "old" products are still in the store. In fact, my very first product at DAZ-- the Pacific Seaperch, which was released in 2003-- eighteen years ago-- is still in the store.  It never was and hever has been a "best-seller," but it continues to sell-- one or two here, one or two there.

In short, DAZ is NOT some money-grubbing enterprise that tosses out old products just because they aren't "hot sellers."

There could be any number of reasons that a vendor vanishes from DAZ, or that products vanish from the DAZ store.  One is if the vendor moves to another store that requires him to sell his products at that store "exclusively"-- in that case, he'd have to remove his products from DAZ and either sell them at the other store or "retire" them.  There are many other possible reasons... but I've never heard of DAZ requiring me or any other vendor to produce "new content" to remain in the store, or to sell any set number of copies of a product to remain in the store, or anything else of the sort.

I've been a vendor here since 2003, so I do know what I'm talking about.  I hope this clears up the matter.

Actually, long ago I had a product (a joint product with several other vendors) in the store that was reguarly selling a small number, but I was removed as a PA when DAZ cleaned out a bunch of vendors such as myself that had not produced any new products in a while.  Maybe that is no longer a policy, but it was done at least once in the distant past.
