Is This Survey Legit or Scam?

I received an e-mail request to participate in a survey about DForce Cloth.  It appears to be sent from Daz (via Surveymonkey), but I'm always paranoid about clicking on anything I hadn't specifically asked for.  Does anyone know if this is a legitimate survey or not?  Thanks.

    Yea, you're fine :)

  • Good enough for me.  Gotta trust the guy who created so many of the sets that I own.  =)  Thanks.

Hehehehe.. no problem. They've used Survey Monkey in the past, so it's nothing new.. and a good way to handle surveys and the analytics/results.. so you're safe.

    Cheers!

How do we know you are the real Jack Tomalin?... Say something only the real Jack Tomalin would say or know... Like your catchphrase or who is your favorite superhero or what is your favorite raw vegetable...

Actually I don’t think you have a catchphrase... or I missed it...

Okay from now on we all need catchphrases... Mine is going to be “Scooby-Dooby-Doooo!”... Hmmm... That sounds too familiar... is that yours?

Just to be safe, I’ll work on something better... but until you tell us your favorite supervegetable I’m not answering the door to anyone claiming to be from DAZ or the “Fire Department”... as if there is such a thing... a whole department of fire... such nonsense.

Besides... how do we even know the real Jack Tomalin is real... you could be six cats in a person costume for all we know... which is kinda cute... but we don’t even know if the real Jack Tomalin was ever real... sure you make great models and you fight crime in your spare time (the spandex suit was a little over the top by the way), but how do we know your real name is even Jack Tomalin... you could be Tom Jackalin or Kcaj Nilamot or some other...

You know what... this is too much effort for this early in the morning... I’m gonna go have some coffee and think about this later...

I’ve got my eye on you...

Actually, I don’t and I’m probably forget about this three seconds after I leave this screen...

Hahahah.. well, I'd seriously question the imposters lifestyle choices if they wanted to imitate me..  and if they are.. they can go do the washing up as well for me :D

  • Your aversion to (washing up) water would rather support the cat theory.

It's funny, last place we lived was across the street from Survey Monkey.

(And Survey Monkey is right next to a beer garden, woo hoo!)

You did forget the "Is this the real Jack test" did you?. Probably beacuse you only tried that on the most known Jack, Mr Schitt. But the Jack test goes like this:
Feed the possible doppelganger a pint of good British Ale, and if it doesn't burp and ask for more, it's a doppelganger.

Did you receive the dForce Cloth survey ?

Is the mail arriving to anyone, or just to selected users? I've not found it!

  • The real Jack test...... so we have Jack and we have a computer, each sitting behind a screen, and we have each make a great item..... St. Peter's in Rome, let's say...... and from the quality of the  final item made can we tell if it is the real Jack or a computer.......

What are you working on these days, Real Jack...... :)

A bit of everything really.. while times quite tight these days, I just try to get something done.. so I’ve got about 3 on the go at the moment :)

...yeah, checked my inbox and spam box but nothing. Even if it the survey itself was blocked by my AV/firewall I should have received the email.

I imagine only the ones who purchased a lot of dForce content were the target of this survey.

Maybe the ones who bought something from the last dForce magnet promo?

I have 12 dForce products in my library, but nothing! ^^

So... this survey is being done by actually monkeys?... I’m wondering because I keep getting some annoying kangaroos with clipboards rigging my doorbell, at first I thought it was a religious solicitation, like the kangaroos at the airport, but then I noticed they didn’t leave behind flyers and they weren’t wearing suits... they did have cute little bow ties though...

It got me wondering, maybe not everyone is getting survey monkeys, maybe some people are getting survey pandas, or survey flamingos, or like in my case kangaroos.

Maybe it’s a regional thing? Different animals for different areas.

I’m just saying, maybe if a grizzly bear rings your doorbell, give him a moment and hear him out... what could it hurt?... You might get a discount coupon for some free froyo or maybe help DAZ improve dForce... which by the way, still sounds like the name of an evil fighting organization from some messed up 70s anime... You can picture it now, right?... teenage characters in white track suits wearing bird helmets, leaning forward, right arms raised in unison, shouting out “Gooooooo D Force!”...

    No?...

    Its probably just me...

Seems not. I got the survey on Monday, only bought something from the dForce Magnet promo on Wednesday (because I noticed that a) there was a Pro Bundle I was missing and b) "Oh, I've somehow not used this month's PlatClub coupon yet").

Searching my product library, I've got about fifty dForce products (once I ignore texture sets that are simply named after their parent item), which I suspect isn't "a lot" in the great scheme of things (particularly as a lot of it was in Pro bundles), but maybe that might in of itself be the point - someone who purchases dForce content, but not fanatically; people who either ignore it or exclusively seek it out aren't the people you need to hear from in order to better target your marketting.

    However, I'm guessing here.

    Ah, okay! :D

    50 is much more than 12! ^^
