does anybody use the farm it plugin?

The Farm it plugin, is a render Farm plugin for Daz Studio. I just downloaded the trial. And I would like to know how long the trial is? Also the bottom line?

These plugins are really interesting. I'd never heard of them before...

  • The search engine on this site. Doesn't seem to work for me. Every time I search for advanced plugin. I get no results. In this case I was always getting Farm scenes. So I started searching Google. I also seen something on YouTube. How to install the unreal render engine in Daz Studio. I was more interested in the Eevee render engine. Or even the Cycles Render engine.

Found the site and plug-ins - thanks, never saw these before!

So....I guess the Farm plug-in is not for IRAY?

So....I guess the Farm plug-in is for 3DL?   Could not afford all those licenses for IRAY.

Edit:  Read through the PDF, and as expected it uses 3DL (the clue was that it would use more than 20 computers, kind of pricey for the IRAY licences at $300/yr each).

  • I strongly doubt it. Iray server, which does the same thing, is very expensive.

  • From what I read it's, 3DL. I hope it's not as expensive as Iray.

I've used this before and even purchased the license. I installed it and had it working the very first time I used it, it does take some time getting it setup though. Here's the bad news. I made some changes to the system I was using it on, like changing the folder where the rendered files were being rendered to and everything seem to break and stop working. No matter what I tried, I just couldn't get it working again. I tried wiping the entire system I was using, numerous emails back and forth with the Generation X guys and tried all their solutions and still nothing worked. So unfortunately I gave up.

I plan on trying it again some time but for now I've concentrated on leaning more about how to become more proficient with DAZ Studio. I wish there was a solution for using DAZ Studio and a render farm but so far I haven't found one. I would love it if something was available. I'm an retired technology professional so putting one together wouldn't be much of a problem if there was a solid solution, I'd do it yesterday!
