I deserve a donut!  What food items are needed for the DS community?

Do we need more donuts?  or what other foods do we need?

I own every food product in the store. There are several donuts in the store here, and elsewhere, so they are pretty well represented, as are desserts, cakes, pies, cookies etc.

What we don't have is a lot of food with 'bites taken' out of it. So like bits of cake, half eaten bananas and such. Also food preparaiton (sliced food) is not very well represented or food about to be cooked.

I looked hard for some food on a cutting board chopped. But no dice.

There are a lot of food items over at CGAxis; some of them are partialoly eaten and there are also some, both chopped and not chopped, on cutting boards: https://cgaxis.com/product-category/3d-models/food-2/ . While it could get a little pricey if you want many different ones, you could consider one of the download subscription plans or one of the collections.

ETA: Available formats include both fbx and obj which can be imported into DS.

I guess the stuff you need and can't find you have to make yourself. I made (kitbashed) this last week.... the ubiquitous cup noodle.

That is the normal practice in the 3d world outside this community. Nice job!

Yes,   would be nice to see a good British Chippie, or a Pie and Mash shop.    Kebab shops may seem to be British now, but only since about the 60s/70s.  Turkish immigrants brought kebabs with them as they started drifting over after WW2. They started becoming popular in the 60s  and Donner Kebabs in Pitta bread appeared around the 70s.
Curry houses and Chinese Restaurants arrived in the uk in the late 19th century   but took some time to gain popularity.
I always remember when the first Chinese takeaway arrived in our smallish town, around 1963.  It was called "The New Hong Kong" and one of the sons became a great friend.  He would insist it was indeed a British Takeway, not a Chinese one as him and his family were made in Hong Kong, which everybody at the time knew was counted as being British.

Was that an intentional pun? Or were you saying you were looking for food that was chopped instead of diced?laugh

I looked hard for some food on a cutting board chopped. But no dice.

"No dice" means "no luck" in the U.S.

She's very clever, but I bet that was unintentional. Still great, though. You have a good eye.

I’m aware of the colloquial meaning. I’m American myself. It also means “to cut into small cubes”.

Follow on question. Is the usage meaning “not possible” unique to this side of the pond?

We can understand it on this side of the pond (I'm in the UK) but I think it was one of the many US imports we picked up along the way.

LOL For those scratching their heads, a chiko roll comes from Australia, and is probably one of the most unhealthy things you could stick in your gob.

If you have Faveral's MICK Banquet Hall there is an "after the feast" scene that loads with partially eaten food. Also check MICK Kitchen. Granted some of the food is what may have been served in medieval times (cooked swan, anyone?), there's fruit, cheese, bread etc. :)

  • We need some Louisiana favorites for DS:

Fried Chicken, Fried fish, fried shrimp, po-boys (which usually have fried shrimp, fried oyster, fried alligator, shredded lettus and tomato on them). Boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, boiled potatoes, corn on the cob (for a crawfish/shrimp boils).

    Red beans and rice too!

    Damn, now I'm hungry!

  • Okay here we go it's all Greek to me

Moussaka, souvlaki, spanikopita, gyros, choriatiki, dolmadakia wink

  • I've love to see realisitic looking partly eaten food wtih utensils that look the part,  I'm not as concerned with the type of food as long as it looks realistic.
