saving a new character to share, path issues

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I have created a new character, gen 8 based, and I want to share her with a couple co-conspirators. I have followed instructions on how to make a new dummy directory to place all the files in, and zip it up. However when my friend unzips, then opens the daz character file, all the material paths are wrong, daz is looking for my path, as in user/pam/...

Is there a way I can save my character so she has relative paths and not hard paths? I must have one switch flipped wrongly! :)  Your help is greatly appreciated

    DS will save relative path if the files are located inside a DS content directory when the character preset is saved.

    Ah! That is the problem! I saved in the dummy file. I need to save in place, then move to the dummy file! Thanks much! I knew someone would have a quick answer here! woohoo!
