Switching to CPU Rendering with SLI Enabled (4.11 beta)

I recently upgraded my system to dual RTX 2080 Ti GPUs, and since only 4.11 beta currently supports these cards I've been using that, with success. Initially I rendered with SLI enabled and everything ran fine, except I was having some temperature issues with both cards running where the top card ran a little hotter than I liked. I turned SLI off and switched to rendering with only one card until I got things worked out. But now when I try to render with both cards, SLI on, Iray automatically switches to CPU rendering. I know it's not a VRAM problem, I have plenty to spare with what I'm trying to render. But Iray doesn't want to use my cards and I can't figure out why. Thanks for any help!

All I know is that when I started rendering I had both GPUs at 100%, and SLI was enabled. If it makes any difference I'm using NVLink, not just regular SLI.

That isn't supported yet, and for renders until it is, Nvidia recommended not using SLI.

Switch off SLI, see if it works; have you recently upgraded drivers? If so, try downgrading reverting.

    Does one card work?

Do each of the cards work when using them separately.

Does all the Vram work as you expect? What checks have you done to confirm?

New tech often arrives faulty; is that the issue.

There are a number of issues with 20 series cards (certainly the 2080ti had at least its share of the issues).
