Are there any good quality agave (century plant) models out there?

I haven't seen any, but in a tight, you could try this with some surface changes:

Sorry I don't know of any models for the Agave plant but I cringe every time I see one, and walk way around them.  Ever been stuck by one of those evil black needles on the tips of the swords?  Vicious.  We had some around a duplex I lived at in Florida.  Why they have those things around where kids play I'll never know.  I went out one day with wire cutters and snipped off all the evil needles. indecision  To call them needles is too kind, they're more like super sharp, stiff, half inch long carpet tacks without heads.  Brush against one and it goes deep into your flesh and breaks off under the skin.  And the damn thing is cone shaped so the wide end is now wedged into you.  The only thing good about the Agave plant is that it makes intimidating fencing against critters, both four legged and two legged, and apparently you can make tequilla from it.

Edited to add:  After doing a little research there are apparently lots of different varieties of Agave, some more decorative and some more vicious than others.  The one you have pictured and the one I have experience with seems to be "Agave Americana" aka: "Blue Agave" which does have the dreaded needle spines on the tip of the swords as well as saw-like terrors along the edges of the swords.  Evil!  no

However, it is fascinating to watch them bloom.  One day after several years, a stalk starts growing from the middle and goes up 10 or 15 feet.  It grows quite quickly, pops out some antenna like flower bunches along the shaft near the top of the stalk then the stalk dies.

Thanks for the various links and suggestions!

Actually yes, but only a few little pokes, nothing serious.  I have one as a houseplant.  It's a bit sad looking since it gets no significant light, and at about 2 feet across it doesn't quite live up to the 12 foot diameter plant I had originally hoped for decades ago (which is just as well, since I don't really have the space for that.)  When it was in my apartment it wasn't in the safest position, and after nearly loosing an eye on it while watering I ended up sticking a styrofoam peanut on the tip of the leaf pointed stright up at me just to make it stand out in the corner of my vision.  I personally think they're really neat looking (and much nicer looking when outdoors getting full sun in the desert), but then again I'm a crazy plant person, to each his own.

Xfrog has an Agave model.  It is half-price right now.  All the plant models I have bought from them have been of very high quality.
