Polka Dots with Iray

Hello.
The question is: how to made editable polka dots texture with Iray? I want base color and dots color to be changeble. Is it possible to do this with Uber Base Shader?
I can place an image with white dots on black background as texture to Metallic Flakes Weight. But in that case dots are too shiny and metallic (why? :)) So, I think that is not the best solution.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I would create just your basic solid colors first and save as a shader. Then create dot png images same size as your solid color tiles and save several pngs of the dots in various colors. Use the pngs to save as L.I.E. presets
You need to make a black and white image with the dots white and the background black, plug that into the Diffuse Overlay Weight channel, set it to 100%, then you can change the color in the Diffuse Overlay Color channel.
(This doesn't work with Uber Surface Shader which is 3Delight, only Iray Uber which the OP is using since he mentioned Metallic Flakes Weight)
It should be mentioned that you can do it with L.I.E. as the others mentioned, and indeed you need to if you're rendering with 3Delight and don't have the spare 150 IQ points to mess with shader mixer.. but with Iray Uber it's much easier and less clunky to just use the diffuse overlay already built in to the shader.
This will not show in the viewport, you'll need to render it to see the effect. I have it tiled 4x4 to get this size dots on this shirt, size will depend on the UV mapping of the object it's applied to but 3 to 5 times repeat should be in the right ballpark for most things.
Tooting my own horn (toot!), another option is to use Oso Blendy ( https://www.daz3d.com/oso-blendy-two-layer-shader-for-iray )
You can create two different sets of values (color, etc) and then mask them with a single map. So you can then create a set of masks that use the same two layers, or different layers using the same masks, or whatever.
Admittedly if you want a fairly simple surface with polka dots, the other options people have mentioned are easier.
Sweet, so 60s & 70s. Thanks!
