Turning a geoshell into clothing (for use with dforce)
Geoshells are a great and easy to use tool to create skin-tight clothing. Is there a way to convert it to regular clothing so that you may use dforce to affect the fitting, etc.?

Not while keeping it a GeoShell, no, as those are clones of the original shape rather than independent shapes.
You could just export the base figure as OBJ too - there's no real need to go through a Geometry Shell stage.
You could always apply the same in your modeller, or apply a Push Modifier to the base figure before exporting (that's what the Geometry Shell offset is - a Push Modifier applied by default).
