I have about six updates to install in Daz Studio. I click, "Install update" and nothing happens. The message just says "obtaining data from Dax Connect". How do I fix this?

Is it just these updates or is Connect failing to install/update in general?
I have found that connect is failing accross the board with installs and updates. It sems to start and then just freezes.
OK, the first suspect would be your security software. What are you using, and has it recently updated itself?
I am using MalwareBytes and it has recently updated itself. I have found another starnge and never seen isssue last night. I have a Genesis 3 female model and I was trying to cloth her with a dress. When I clicked on the dress to select, I get the message asking me if I would like to save before closing as if I was closing DAZ Studio. I tried several other clothes items and got the same message. I finally found something for her to wear that did not give me the messsage. Sounds like something is corrupted somewhere. maybe uninstall studio and reinstall? Another annoying thing is that I do not use Poser, so I wanted to get rid of all of those "Ps" and "CF" items with a question mark out of my smart content, so I went into Install Manager and uninstalled those files. They still show in Studio. I checked the DB manager and I have pointed to my DZ Connect and MY DAZ Studio Library folders. It seems that the studio app is reading from another database, but I cannot see that it is.
The issue with treating everything as a scene file is another thing likely to be rooted in communication, with the Content Management System. You might, for that, try going offline, disabling the security software, and seeing if DS will then handle those items correctly. I'm not sure that MalwareBytes does function as a firewall, though.
If you have an item with a Poser installer and a Daz Studio CF then you need both to use it in DS - CF is companion file, for those items materials to be applied to the Poser content after loading (though probably 3Delight materials rather than Iray). The product list in DS will show everything you own, it doesn't have a hide option like Install Manager
