Driver support for GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

I was thinking about buying the RTX 2080Ti. However. I'm not sure if Iray has 2080 support yet. Does anyone know?

  • It does, but only in the Iray version included in the public beta  -DS 4.11.0.236 currently - not in the release build.

The current Iray does. But that version is only available in the Daz Studio 4.11 beta at the present time.

  • mk ok. has anyone bench marked it?

And that's just support, it's not RTX capable or anything like that.  We have to wait until NVIDIA have finished Optix 5.2 before we get the possibility of RTX core support.  When we do, if the Octane renderer beta numbers are anywhere close, it should be a good 5 - 8 times faster.

  • Its hard to say at this point and depends on how critical rendering speed/VRAM amt. is. Right now I think those cards are overpriced & the Ray Tracing feature is overhyped(and disappointing). Unless you can find 1-2 1080 Ti's(~3580 usable CUDA Cores) for sale at a reasonable price, your only other option is the 2080 Ti. The 2080 Ti has around 4350 CUDA Cores with the same amount of VRAM as the 1080 Ti. So it should render a bit faster than a 1080 Ti despite its handicaps since it does have around 800 more CUDA Cores. This is just a guess on my part and I haven't personally done nor seen any benchmarks in regards to its performance with Iray rendering in DS 4.11.
