Can someone make more characters for Genesis 8 female that look like Lydia(G3)?

Can someone make more Genesis 8 females that look like this:

This picture is from: https://www.daz3d.com/lydia-hd-for-victoria-7

Thanks.

  • This is a custom character based off of the Victoria 7 base model. I doubt you're going to get very close to it using a G8 base to build from. I could be wrong, but I do believe they have different bone structures, and certainly different UV maps, which is why you won't find characters like this being offered across dramatically different bases. Plus I highly doubt they would appreciate having their hard work copied and resold on a different base. Your best bet is to put in an open request to the vendor(s) of that character and ask if they can make a similar one available for Victoria 8. You might be SOL though, because it doesn't look like maelwenn has produced anything here recently for any of the newer Genesis 8 bases(Victoria, Olympia, etc.). Maybe try checking Renderosity website since some of these vendors produce content for sale at multiple sites. It won't be the exact same, but you might find something that looks similar.

They don't have to copy it, just make something as high quality.

That lydia character is higher quality than 95% of Genesis 8 female models and it's Genesis 3, lol.

You can use the texture (which is probably what makes you see it as high quality)on Genesis 8 as long as it uses the base UVs.

I'm interested in what you mean by quality.

As am I. What exactly is defining "quality" here? Looking through the promo pictures, I'm not seeing anything that leaps out as of such truly extraordinary quality that I would put it above "95% of Genesis 8 female models".

It's good, certainly, but I'm not yet seeing "superlative".

  • It likely means that she is just super hot looking. Super model type of body and face. Very nice skin texturing. Overall combo for guys who want to render hot girls is in place with ease. The point being her attractiveness primarily. No one can deny she's attractive.

Raiya's characters are always good, excellent even: any series. I like the inclusion of separate HD morphs, which other artists also include (Mousso for example has done a number for G8, as has Bleujeunt, also with separate HD sliders.)

If we're going to talk about quality, I'm going to suggest that quality is something objective, and that it can be measured, and broadly-speaking the majority of folks can agree on what it is.

Beauty and physical attractiveness is so subjective I wouldn't even attempt to quantify it. (I do seem to remember physical characteristics being quantified; they were traits that more people were likely to find attractive; this probably came about before folks started finding baloons that used to be breasts attractive - but I digress.)

G3 and G8 share so much that textures can be shared without issue; morphs can be transferred with relative ease, although G8's expressions and bending/posing seem to be an improvement.

From an attractive perspective, I find both generations equally so, but welcome the inclusion of some more realistic characters in G8.

Genesis 8 as a mesh is not that different to that of Genesis 3, and I am fairly sure the face has the same number of polygons in both (although I think G8 uses less polygons in the internal mouth part).

As such anything that can be modelled in G3 can also be modelled for G8. Bone structure only comes into it when using an expression, so it is possible the smile on the two versions would not look the same.

Using a product like: https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-7-for-victoria-8 of by transferring the V7 morph to G8, plus moving over the Lydia morph, you should be able to recreate Lydia more or less exactly, it is just that the G8 version will bend better and have better expressions.

If so, then that's not a very useful description. Attractiveness is exceptionally subjective (personally, I go more for characters with realistic blemishes and flaws over super-airbrushed perfection), and not directly synonymous with quality - a model could be ugly as sin, and yet of exceptional quality.

Personally, I'd rate the quality of a character more on matters like whether facial expressions deform naturally on its face, which seems to often be a major ask when many artists do things like significantly change the shape of the mouth without providing corrective morphs. One of my most used characters basically just uses a very slightly modified G8F head (although it's hard to tell under a texture swap) just because if you're not going to have corrective morphs, expressions are going to look best on the mesh shape they were made for.

Like I said; I'm pretty sure eveyone can agree on quality - perhaps not every single point, but many.

... And yes a character can be thought of as ugly, but its quality gives it a prespected place in ones collection. Ollie isn't that attractive, but is nevertheless a great character of excellent quality.
