VisualMenus, that's something DAZ should aquire and integrate in DAZStudio.

Just my opinion.

I'd rather have shortcuts and better support for them.

    Agreed!

  • I have to say though, now that I take a closer look at it, it seems like it could be really useful. Does it run alongside the regular menus or does it take over the interace? Ive needed a second monitor for my usual daz habit, this seems like it might make a dual monitor set up essential.

Having said that, I'm was watching the vids and it does look to be useful workflow combining shortcuts and clicks; I just find having to click distracting.

The menus pop up when you hit the shortcut, then go away when you select whatever you are after. They don't replace anything, but will make a huge impact on your workflow. I've got mine set up right now with a separate menu for pose utilities, character utilities, and a few random items that I use frequently. All without having to go into the content library to pull up an asset

    Runs along side other menus.

It's a great product. I bound a few menus to mouse buttons - really nice to quickly and easily move between settings in Daz.

  • Heres what I want to know.

    1. I create a menu of Iray shaders.

    2. When clicking any shader button on the initial menu, the shader is applied and a second menu opens. This escond menu would consist of all the shader options.

Im trying to figure out how to command that first button on the initial menu to open the subsequent menu.

I havent been able to figure that out yet.

I don't know whether you can have one button trigger two custom actions, or whether on the one click (apply shader then open subsequent menu) - I don't see a way to that. What you can do is create the initial shader menu, reserve one button to trigger a second menu (ctrl-click the button, go to the tab 'Visual Menus', select the menu you have created for the shader options). An extra click but will get you there.

Alternatively you can create a button that will automatically take you to the shader folder location in the content library pane and go from there. Nath explains it pretty well in the thread over Commercial Products forum.
