Looking for a few more converters
After all the sales, I have an OK line up of G3/G8 gear...Another site helped me get the detail I want for specific characters (nod, nod, wink, wink).
I have a V4/M4 clothing converter that can buy me time to upgrade me clothes, same with the texture converters. Here's my new questions...
1) I am looking for something that can apply a shader for G3 to G8 (specifically, ShanasSoulmate's G3 Full Body Tattoos), as I want to apply some of them to a G8 character
2) Conversely, I have a G8 texture I'd like to apply to a G3 character (morphs too) if #1 can't work
3) Poser Materials to work in DAZ (long time ago, this WAS possible), is it still? I have poser materials that'd I like to use in DAZ, if I can't that's fine, but if I can buy time, would be helpful
4) I have Shana's soulmates tattoos for V4/M4 1-10, I'd like to be able to use them in DAZ on G3/G8 characters, if possible? Any converters?
Sorry to ask a lot, but long ago I was a Poser person. Now that I have seen the leaps and bounds that DAZ has made, specifically with characters, and the quality, I'm pretty much sold. But with the investment in Poser based gear, I don't want to give that up either

Comments
1) just click to apply it to the G8 figure, it works on either generation.
2) G3 textures work fine on G8 figures. You will have to save them from the G3 version as a material preset and then use that preset to G8.
3) not sure what you mean by poser materials unless you mean the node based procedural ones from poser which do not work in DS.
4) the inked products for poser used python scripts tp apply. DS doesn't use python. Your best bet would be to take the tatto images and apply them directly to the textures in photoshop or gimp and save. Then use the cayman studios UV addon to make V4 textures work on G3/G8 and apply the modfied textures, but the results won't be that good in Iray. The DS only inked products use the layer image editor (LIE)
I was like you, a long time poser user that didn't want to lose out on my poser content investments, but after using them for awhile, I just realized the quality isn't up to par with the newer offerings and rarely use them any longer.
Thank you all :)
I'm fine losing the poser materials, so long as DAZ has comparable shaders (which they do).
I'll have a learning curve, but looks like I can retire poser by end of next year (need to convert existing characters into G3/G8, based on what I am looking for
