Mind numbingly frustrating colour/surfaces issues.

I really hope someone can help with my problem. This problem became evident during the month of September this year. I had referred to the DAZ tutorial and had loaded Genesis2 female in 3Dlight and immediately noticed odd skin colours. These colour discrepancies began to appesr in many other images also. I did initiallly post on the forum but was unable to solve the problem. I opened a support ticket with the help centre and it's been going back and forth now for a couple of months trying all ways to sort it out but without a solution The last action has been to completely remove all DAZ related content from my PC including the DIM and all of my products and then to re-install all again. (A long session). Even this has not worked, so frustrating. I have to make the point here that the person at the help centre (Emmalee) who has so patiently been dealing with my problem has been so very kind and helpful. Other graphics programmes on my PC do not seem to be effected in the same way, I have Poser, Gimp, Blender, Bryce etc but I do not use those as much as I use DAZ3D. I will attach a selection of pictures to indicate what the issue is, these are only a small portion of the corrupted pictures. Any and all help and guidance would be most appreciated.

Thank you all.

  • I've seen this before as well where it looks like the UVs get jumbled.  The only fix I found was closing DAZ Studio and relaunching it.  Oddly, it didn't affect the actual Iray render or preview.  I have not seen this in the DAZ Studio 4.11 beta.

I remember seeing your initial post. Sorry to hear about your issues! Not sure if I have any ground breaking methods to solve this thing:( So you're rendering in the regular 3Delight engine? Is Iray rendering ok with the same problem scenes? Ar you using motion blur with 3DL? It sometimes causes figures to render transparent, especially if you only have keyframes on frame 0. Do the scenes look the same if rendered in 3DL with progressive on? Never seen anything quite like this...

If you load the G2F base figure, does it always look the same? And if you load another skin? Are there characters that render ok, or do all of them share the same issue?

Those are all viewport screen shots and not renders.

How does it look when rendered?

This.  If it renders okay, then my #1 suggestion is to lower the Display Optimization in Preferences | Interface.

Hi Sven - thanks for the comment. The issue seems to be confined to G2, other Gen figures appear to be OK although many other products are affected, seemingly in different ways. Hope you have a great weekend.
