Can DAZ 3d be used by kids under the age of 18?

    Can Daz Studio be used by kids under 18? I think the answer to that is yes, but it depends on the parents. If you don't find it safe, make sure they can't use it.  My own view on this is that there is nothing dangerous here, compared to all the other dirt they can (and you better believe they will) look at in the big bad world out there. Parents are usually oblivious to what's going on in schools and among friends of their kids. Even more so these days with all the stuff so easily available. Something like Daz Studio that primarily has an artsy background should be the least of your worries if you ask me. I'd be glad your daughter has a creative side and isn't out there doing bad stuff. Not yet anyway.

    Valid point though, why are there genitals painted on female characters? I have done this with my own characters, simply because I thought that was expected as it seemed to be common place. But is that even serving a purpose? It being just painted on doesn't provide enough realism to actually use it in renders. I could include additional morphs to make that a bit better, then again as far as I know I can not by default load that morph anyway. And of course there are better options with the additional geografts out there. So, why did I paint on genitals at all? And as mentioned above, why does this not trigger a problem with credit card companies, or whatever the underlying problem is, but an actually shaped penis does? It's a bit of a mystery to me too.

    I've never seen a child talk about Barbie's making them feel inadequate. They learn that from television & peers.

    One thing here that NOBODY has raised is the possibility that the adults can get into legal trouble for the things they let their children learn or do.  You may be shocked at just how serious it can get.  Schools and other government agencies love to find people to go after, and for the slightest of infractions, too.

    Even here in the US, you could have a visit from child welfare, then find yoursef in a protracted legal battle with our own government for custody of your own kids!  All because your kid was overheard telling his friends about DAZ Studio or some of the characters.  Families who keep and bear firearms have to be careful, even though keeping firearms is perfectly legal here.  Families who are religious have to be careful in some parts of the country, even though we supposedly are free to worship in whatever way we wish, or not at all if that is our preference.  This topic is no different.

    I'll assume that everybody here is doing a great job raising their kids to become smart, well-adjusted adults.  You probably don't need to "have the talk" with the kids.  Not that talk, no...but a different one, yes.  This conversation maybe should be about not saying too much in school, because that's often where the overreach begins.

    When does a kid ever say something like that? Its in how they act. Girls are taught to want to be a princess in most situations. Barbie obviously is not the only thing doing it, but Barbie historically has been there to reinforce those values.

    Barbie is also more than a doll, there a books, movies, and even some really bad video games.

    Certainly Mattel has done things in recent years to change things. But why did they? If nothing was wrong then they had no reason to add such a line in 2015. Right?

    But this has little to do with Daz. And to say people dress as Aiko is a stretch, they would be dressing as a known anime character. Not Aiko. This is called cosplay, and isn't the same as trying to desperately lose weight to become a Barbie doll. Cosplayers tend to be older, too. And fatter. No offense to any cosplayers, but I don't tend to see cosplayers with major eating disorders. I'm sure some do exist, and in some parts of the world the pressure to be beautiful is very real. Plastic surgery is taking off in South Korea.

    Nice to see what a few nipples and genitals can provoke here, when a product for DAZ about "severed heads and limbs" doesn't raise a single comment.
