Assets loading time

Hello there.

How can we reduce the assets loading time when importing them into a scene? I'm actually loading them from an M2 SSD Drive but sometimes it takes an infinity!

  • If this is a figure you could try uninstalling unneeded morph packs/characters.

Is this happening with all your assets? And what's an infinity to you? If I load some of the larger outdoor sets, they can take up to 30 seconds to load and I consider that normal. What kind of times are you getting?

  • When I add something to a scene, it takes up to 5 minutes to load it (even a single base G3F), when I go to deleting something (everything), it freezes and kept frozen up to 10 minutes... my Cpu is a i9 ... I'm not understanding what's happening. On my other machine, i5, you have all the time to go and get a degree on the other side of the world while it is loading\deleting assets... lol

    P.s. I haven't installed any morphs ...

a suggestion    this sounds like a behavior that anti-virus/anti-malware "real-time protection" would cause

  • I'm actually using Immunet as Antivirus\Antimalware software...

I'd be curious to know what your CPU load is while all this is going on. I know Windows 7 task manager also has a resource monitor that can tell what the disk activity is by each program, but I don't know about Win 10.

Ive bumped into that problem before. If your drive or external drive is where you keep your Library, I would update or reinstall the driver for the USB Ports and make sure you are using a USB 3.0 slot. That fixed it for me. I just reinstalled the driver and all the sudden it work working fine again. There is also a Power Supply Issue too. I have a PCI Card.

Another thing about Librarys is that you dont want them placed inside of program files. Win7 and 10 have poor loading performance  on program file applications. Make sure your Library is in My Documents or another folder.
